Are material prices going to continue to drop?

This is my first expansion where I’m really leaning heavily into professions, in this case Alchemy. I’ve got all four secondary stat flasks unlocked and would like to stock up on things like Null Lotus in anticipation for s1 where I’m hoping the prices for flasks are also going to go up now that they have use. For anyone more familiar with professions in expansions, should I go ahead and buy mats like Null Lotus now just in case they also raise in price or do things like material cost continue to drop as time goes?

They fall and raise

I wouldn’t be surprised if some stuff went back up when the actual season starts

Yes, they always do.
At the start of DF, low quality severite was going for like 40g for 1 ore, iirc, by the time the second raid was out, it was selling for like 5, by the time the third raid was out, it was barely going for a gold.

Prices are always high like this, then drop sharply after the first few months .
Everyone is rushing to get their skills up and gear, so this is pretty normal, Ride the lightening while you can and sell sell sell.

Prices start high because few people focus on professions early in on release. There are fewer materials, so the people selling those materials have less competition.

It’s been a week and a half, NUMEROUS more people are now in on the professions as they have exhausted their weekly rewards and leveling, and with more competition, means more price drops.

As patches come closer to dropping with new content, prices will rise and fall, especially if they may be related to that new content or not.

tl’dr Largely yes, sometimes no.
