Have SM/ZF cleave groups completely rotted their brain?
I simply can’t recall the last time I had a good run with them, post SM spam.
RFK/ Ulda/ and even ZF, all had a moment where the Mage did something stupid.

Yes.

I’m not sure I get a vote, but aye.
So far, going to say Yes.
Few if any even know their class, most just spamming AoE. Really annoying to tank as well, since can’t AoE tank on warrior to well if no rage from getting hit.
Had led to many funny times though, where mage panics and frost novas to then die mid blink. Finally get all the mobs back though at least.
Huntards have pet taunt on, roll on all loot, wipe group by accident pulling extra stuff from pet pathing,
Magetards expect all runs to be full AoE sperging, can’t properly manage threat, think they are the shiznit and pull extra mobs, run out of mana or die and wipe the group.
To alter an old proverb:
It’s the player, not the class.
I have found the idiot ratio to be fairly consistent regardless of what buttons the player pushed on the creation screen.
Oh yes, they are the worst players.
Im offended
I have seen mages single-target DPS with Blizzard. That’s plural. Most hunters I have come across have actually been some of the best players.
Some classes have a higher propensity to screw up because of the tools they have. Hunters win by a mile.
Mages will never be like Hunters because they can’t steal your loot.
Oh man, it’s kandlejack I can’t believe he
What stops them? Everyone can roll.
Not everybody can sincerely believe they actually need the item, though.
“I need gold too, how else will I buy my mounts/upgrades!”
What stops them? Not being Hunters, that’s what.
Makes sense. A mage somehow manages to reach level 60 in under 4 days played. Few short days later a guild somehow manages to defeat ony and rag before the first reset. Of course this was all totally legit, and without layering abuse…
People start hearing about mage aoe and how its very strong. People that are bad at the game hear about it as well. Makes sense that we will have some mages running around worthy of the designation you prescribed in the op title.
People who watch streamers just see this blob of mages doing aoe dungeon clears so they roll mages thinking its the most efficient class only to be not nearly skillfull enough to pull it off and use the blame game to put the fault on everyone but themselves
I know not every mage will act like the hunters of old but I assume so till proven differently.
A good mage can make a great run, a bad mage can destroy one
In AoE situations you are not going to tank every mob 100% of the time. What SHOULD be happening is when Blizzard is freezing or they’re nova’ing, you need to be between the mobs and the mage, in melee range, because then, you’ll get hit and generate rage to use your abilities for AoE tanking (frozen or rooted mobs will ALWAYS attack someone that’s in melee range, regardless of who has more threat). Which will help you keep control and keep that loose mob off of the mage. Instead, most tanks just stay behind the mobs, even when they’re intentionally in AoE groups and can’t figure out why they’re starved of rage.
This isn’t 2004 anymore. People expect you to learn how your class and role works.
