Are legendaries too pricey?

I’d like some feedback, and possibly advice on this one. As someone who plays wow regularly, but only an hour or two a day i feel like i am falling behind on gold. Legendaries that are up to date and 260ilvl on my server ( Mal’ Ganis) are 100k gold. Yes! 100k! I understand SOME players have millions of gold, however most of my buddies struggle with gold as well. I do my covenant dailies for the chest, and the mission table and pick up items from killing mobs. So MAYBE i can make 2k a day. THAT WOULD TAKE 50 DAYS to farm the gold for a legendary. How do you all feel about this? My question to those who have no issues with gold, can you give me some tips on how to make more? I’m not crazy on the idea of feeling obligated to buy a token. Thank you for your feedback.

How? I just did my stuff, sell everything just like you and made about 150k+ in a week

Download the mobile app. Doing mission tables on your lunch break with a handful of alts will make all the gold you need.

Really? I get 1 covenant daily box a day, and the contents sell for about 1.2-1.5k. The mission table missions offer me about 250g each and im usually lucky to get 2 at a time that offer gold. Besides that its just loot drops i can vendor. Is there something else im missing here?

Quests/dailies/treasures/WQs/Dungeons… But you’re right that with 1-2 hours of playtime everyday you don’t have time to do a lot in a day but if you keep it up for a bit it racks up quick

It’s so dang hard to do mission tables nowadays, since I’m constantly changing covenants. >_< Can’t really send out my dudes for missions until I’m done with playing for the day.

Yes, blizzards mistake was to not put a fixed prize on them. The result? Really expensive legendaries.

Whys that? I have one druid in each covenant since 9.0, so not sure what switching covenant’s does. Im just sad Venture Plan got abandoned. Was so good while it lasted.

Yes cost way too much.

They are a little too pricey, but at the same time I’d still rather have this system over the utter trash that was Legion’s legendary system pre-7.3.5.

Nope!!

The amount of grind you have do justifies the price.

If you’re only farming 2k a day you’re doing it wrong.

Switching covenants cancels your in-progress missions. For that reason I mostly only do the mission tables on characters I’m not actively playing

Just doing the callings and the weeklies for a month would net you roughly 75k or you could buy the dreaded hated by all token!

It cancels your missions whenever you swap covenants.

Outside of covenant dailies, and mission table what do you recommend? I see people saying weekly’s. Which weekly quest are people referring to?

Everything in Korthia/ZM/Maw gives a lot of gold, personally I don’t even bother with the covenants anymore

Yes. Way too pricey

Farming greens.

In an hour I had pieces drop that were equivalent to 4-500k

From what you wrote it seems implied that you only have 1 max level toon, but it really becomes so much easier once you have more. The people who have tons of gold aren’t playing a single toon for 1-2 hours a day. Your options are limited with that amount of play time and only 1 toon. There are some things you can do though.

-Once a week you can do the reservoir anima quest on each covenant which gives you about 1600? gold per covenant. You only need to get 1k anima and this can easily be done with WQ or just a couple of those 500 anima WQ or World Bosses.

-Every day skim all the WQ. You will often find some with ~800 gold rewards and they are often very quick and easy (2 arena bosses in maldraxxus. the 5 rifts to be closed in ardeenwaald)

-Check each zone for those special chests, the ones with the special icons. The vendor trash can be sold for 600-800 gold and it only takes as long as reaching the chest.

-I would pick up a profession like Herbalism and instead of spending chunks of time hunting for herbs, just pick up the herbs that are on the way while doing other activities. From what I’ve seen marrowroot tends to sell the highest.

If you have the time I would level up another toon as gold making becomes so much easier. I have 3 toons and I keep the toons that I don’t play much as kyrian. I hate gold-related activities so I do the bare minimum and I haven’t had any gold related problems. I keep them kyrian because you can do about 25% of the callings in about 2-3 minutes. You just wait till the 2 bastion-related callings come up and you do the bell quest 3 days in a row. This quest takes like 30 seconds max. I don’t do all the callings on my alts, I just do the ones that are very fast. If there are 2 callings in the same zone and I see that there are very fast WQ’s there I will do them. I’m not gonna spend 20 minutes doing a calling because like I said, I hate doing gold-related activities.

If I were you and only had 1 toon and 1-2 hours a day I would pony up the 20 bucks but that’s me.
