Are Instant cast DoT's considered Instant Spells?

Do the Instant cast talents affect DoT’s since they are marked as Instant cast?

Could you point to the talents you’re referring to? I think a lot of people confuse “instant” with “direct damage.” In which case, no, DoTs are not considered direct damage, but SW: P would be considered instant where VT would not.

I am referring to the ‘Twin Disciplines’ talent on the first tier of the Discipline talent tree in the WotLK classic.
I am referring to SWP and Devouring Plague.
