So I joined a new guild a little bit ago and noticed that some of the members were from realms that i know my realm isn’t merged with. Did Blizz finally add Cross realm Guilds?
They connected a whole bunch of realms last summer that you may not be aware of.

Its probably because your server has been linked with other smaller/dead servers to liven up the places and not feel so empty.
Akama is linked with Dragonmaw, Mug’Thol, Eldre’thalas, Korialstratsz , Antondias and Uldum.
