Are Guilds a waste of time?

My guild of me and my alts keeps the endless guild invite spam away.

Might not have been intended to come off how it did, but to me it seemed as if you try and join voice chat with female WoW toons because you want/expect to hear them speak in a cute anime voice. Might not be sexual, just rubbed me the wrong way (pardon the pun).

Edit: Otherwise, why would it matter if it is a 60 year old man playing a girl toon.

You can do everything ingame w/o ever joining a guild thanks to group finder . You dont need a group of players to do stuff with you and thats sad as one of the best experiances of wow is killing a boss with guild/friends and feel the moment :frowning:

I believe most ppl can be gud with time and guidance- especially if you’re just going to a weekly +15.

Am I blind? I stayed for so many low keys and was pulling my hair out on this monk. But, I still think ppl can improve if ppl are kind and helpful. On the flip, I helped so many ppl before and all they were there for was the help and then “they gone”. So, that’s why I’m “dumb” a lot, bc, me helping never mattered and they were off.

DO you feel me?

Idk. Maybe it’s an only child thing. I do not need to talk to ppl. I’m happy in my own world w/o drama and crap. I hate some of the crap I’ve seen in guilds and it’s so hard to be silent when you see so much lameness.

Reply to my friend Utluxmagi:
It doesn’t Matter. I just find that it kinda kills immersion and honestly is cringe worthy to me.

I almost want to say that in order to experience WOW to it’s fullest a player needs to join a guild. Choosing to only solo WOW is like choosing to use 1 legendary while everyone is playing with 2 legendaries.

I’ve been with Impulse since end of Mists and I doubt I’d still be playing now if they weren’t around anymore.

I’m a real bear. idk.

to each their own.

It’s really a question of what you are looking for in a guild. If you’re looking to raid or do dungeons, group with guildies, then guilds are great. If you’re a solo player, it’s optional.

For me, I’m a solo player, but I do enjoy the guild chat. Also, having the hearthstone timer reduction is really nice. I’ve tried it completely solo, no guild just alone, and it’s really quite lonely. No one to ask questions… zone chat pretty much ignores questions, but then lately, so does guild chat. A few of my alts are in my personal guild comprised of just my baby alts, but if I start playing them, they move to my active guild.

You may have to try out a few guilds to find just the right fit for you. There really is a perfect guild out there. I found mine. Good luck to you.

Well, sorry for assigning an intent to you if it’s not the truth! May be worth knowing how it comes across to others though? Have fun my friend.

Edit: Had female WoW friends treated exceptionally creepy/stalker-y so I may be over sensitive to the possibility of such things. Never knew how bad it was until a friend of mine was chased across 4 different server/faction combo transfers by a creep who did disgusting things in voice chat and every other avenue including Web cam shudder

LOL I’m a real solo rebel. Not only do I strictly solo play, but only 2 of my 10 active characters have even one legendary. I’m certainly not going for the 9.2 legendary on anyone.

Never in all of my WoW years have I ever used guild voice chat. When I play, I listen to the game sounds, listen and watch my son stream on my 2nd monitor… no extra ears for any guild voice chat. I don’t even think anyone stays in chat unless they are grouping and i’m not into grouping, just solo.

People don’t seem to grasp the idea that good guilds exist and the problem is they haven’t done the work to find them.

I’ve never been in a bad guild because I know how to find good guilds.

Amen. I’m a “solo rebel” the last year in Wow too. That’s why when someone on the forums the other day was like “iTS sO sUs” to see ppl with mage tower appearances in LFr with “lOW gEAr”. I just busted out laughing. I love playing solo and I’m-laughing at all the ppl who do higher content but can’t do mage tower bc they don’t have the crutch of their group to aid them. It’s like, you don’t think ppl who like playing solo can manage solo content? Mmmk.

How does low gear = solo play? You can be a solo player with exceptional gear so the “low gEAr” comment that you replied to was about people with low gear, not solo players. One can assume anyway.

Bc I can’t really get high gear with solo play unless I want to buy boe’s in the aH.

Where do I get “exceptional” gear as a solo player ?

OH, so you’re saying their version of “low gear” is full purples but not BiS or something? Got it.

Idk what your problem is. Take it ez. Hugs to you

I have no problem? I’m saying they have a weird idea of low gear. My idea of low gear is like… fresh level 60 greens. Maybe you misunderstood me, friend.

Edit: I have MANY problems, though none with you
