My guild is requiring everyone to use flasks for raid. We are still getting one-shot by alot of things. Im not sure if its worth spending hundreds of gold for flasks is worth it. Any opinions?

If you’re wiping, it’s worth it. If everything is on farm, not necessary.

It’s worth, but as a healer, it’s not worth using a Flask of Distilled Wisdom until after Vael. If you’re using health flask, it’s worth running the entire time during progression.
They sure help, tanks should ABSOLUTELY have Titans, its rather optional for everyone else as few fights change with Supreme Power, healers can benefit a lot from more mana though.
They cost zero if you’ve spent ANY of the past few months preparing like you should have been doing and farming mats to make them.
If you did zero prep and expected to just buy them, well, you done screwed up.

Required? In the strictest sense of the word…probably not. But they will help you…but more importantly it will get the member of your guild in the habit of farming up flasks for when they become absolutely required.
I hope availability of raiding reagents doesn’t become a bottleneck on crowded servers (although it might help encourage a bit more population balance across servers).
what are you saving the gold for, it is not real, it is meant to be spent.
If succeeding in raids is what you set for your goal, then contribute to your own success.
Create an alt strictly for herbalism and alchemy and lessen your expense.

You’re only level 20 friend, I think you’ll need all the help you can get.
I like its good for faster progression, to raise the morale early for your guild. I’m flasking for the first 3 weeks and then I will probably just go with conventional potions.
having an extra 1200 hp or 2000 mana on healers helps a lot when learning. Some of the fights take a lot longer than your molten core fights and raid damage is higher. Once you have the strats down you shouldn’t need them but it is nice to always have on the tanks.

People used to get made fun of for relying on flasks back in the day.
That being said as far as progression goes it’s amazing to have your tanks flasked and it does help for other roles for sure
its just 150 - 180g PER WEEK… they might not be necessary for some guilds but, is farming 180g per WEEK hard for anybody?
Depends.
I can get 200g on my priest in about 4 hours give or take. I have herbalism so I farm most of the flash mats myself and usually just have to buy a lotus, so the expense isn’t terrible for a distilled wisdom flask. I have a few in the bank, doing BWL tonight, going to hold off using them unless it’s required.
I might flask of titans on my priest Sunday when we do bwl just to survive shadowflame 2 piece tier 2 3 piece tier 1 bis for most part benediction and still only raid buff like 3700 hp
Titans for tanks after razorgore for progression. If you’re raid is largely MC geared and using damage potions, flasks are not necessary. If you do flask, use titans or distilled. You dont want supreme power because threat is sensitive and you really dont need the extra damage to down bosses.
Depends on how your guild is run, but in the strict sense flasks are just a waste of money for this content except for tanks. Stock up for naxx insead.
Not hard, but not time I’m willing to invest in to weekly. As a tank who hasn’t looked up the absolute perfect best way to farm gold and has mastered it, It takes me several hours to accrue that kinda gold each week.
If my HP ends up being an issue, I’d sooner close shop and let someone else take my spot than farm gold for flasks. So many things have gone on in this game from Dev’s to community, that I’m not sure that I really care or like it anymore.

If you’re a main tank, your guild bank should be paying for your flasks as it helps everyone in the raid. Even if you’re a backup tank and it is determined you need titans, the guild bank should pay for it.
you can just do “LFM Strat life first orb to tank”… 1 run daily, 1 orb daily for your weekly flask… to me, people who cant afford 1 flask per week are just lazy
Well then we will see what happens. I’m in a well organized pug though, with about 30-35 regulars or so. I might just have to throw on some higher HP gear in some cases, and lose a little threat.
Yea that’s fine. Keep thinking that. I am lazy, and I play the game how I want. My ambition is very low right now. BGs are consuming nearly all of my time. It’s not like I wont try my best, but that kinda money weekly is off the table for me.
