Are flask, runes, etc. worth it?

At what level of content should a player be expected to have all the available buff like:
Food, rune, flask, enhancements, embellishments, gems, and any I missed?

I play low to mid mythic plus and normal raids as a healer and don’t think these things matter that much. I’ll socket gems, enhance my items, I have my two embellishments, but I refuse to buy flasks, runes, and about half the time don’t have the food buff.

My thought is that the gold sink isn’t worth it at those levels. The marginal increase isn’t needed. Am I wrong, is the increase of a rune and flask more than around 3% HPS?

Edit: I can’t tell if people don’t read this post or I didn’t communicate it well but I’m taking about these things from a healers perspective. I heal nearly always in group content.

Enchant and embellishments add a lot of DPS, not having those is kinda stupid regardless of content

Flasks/runes are all pretty cheap now as well, I’m using them on a DPS alt and they’re not even doing 5s

When I say runes, I mean the howling/buzzing ones

I don’t use augment runes ever lol

Any content level imo.

Heroic raid. I use them in all raids and keys over 10 though.

Flasks, absolutely. Grabbing the Vers flask adds a healthy amount of damage reduction and damage.

Enchants and Embels are also real handy. There’s not that many enchants to worry about nowadays either. Lot more streamlined.

Food, I always carry personal buff food just in case feasts aren’t in supply. Generally speaking buff food is pretty cheap.

Now runes? Unless I feel like giga tryharding I don’t bother. Way overpriced for the benefits they supply in my opinion. Unless you’re really going hard on keys or M raids I wouldn’t worry about them.

Open world nah.

Anything else yes

I dont think the op means augment runes but the weapon runes (hissing/buzzing/etc). In slands when augment runes were easily farmable id use them every raid pull and every key, in DF i havent used a single one in any content but i have made maybe 500k off selling them.

Ooh. Yeah, those are are a lot more affordable. I was thinking Augments which, yeah, I’m not sure why those cost an arm and a leg.

Combined they all add a lot of stats. If you’re hard up for coin just buy the cheap stuff.

I always use them, LFR or +20, doesn’t matter. They’re really cheap, and even the 2 star phials and potions are good. I just like buffing up my character wherever I can and I also like providing feasts for the group

If it’s less than +10, then I don’t really care, since those are easy enough as it is. But above ten and heroic raiding, yeah, those things start to make a real difference.

EDIT MATH AM HARD

This is not how math works. Raid-wide dps would increase by 3% total if everyone had an extra 3% vers

Edit: and that’s not even accurate, that would only be if everyone had 0 vers to begin with.

If you are getting invited to someone else’s group (raid or mythics), I think you should show up properly prepared.

Perhaps others have written about this, but the three tiered system of consumables makes it quite affordable. the 2nd tiered items tend to be the best priced, oddly enough.

the way the game scales, gems + enchants + food buff + flask can really change your viability by a lot.

Duh?

Rune is usually less than 30g each and food is also cheap or just cook them yourself. Materials are dirt cheap. Flask probably costs a little more but not a lot. Them combined probably adds 3~5%+ performance. It’s just a little thing you could but you refuse to do better. Probably not worth an issue for easy mode / low contents but people do see your buffs and stuff.

They’re all so unbelievably cheap that it is pretty troll not to use any of them. Do you need r3 of everything? No, absolutely not, but even a r2 leg enchant is like 100 main stat and stam and costs very little compared to the 3-4k gold r3.

It’s like 50-80g for a 60 minute flask.

Enchants, flask, and food are cheap and effective enough that id bring those to pretty much anything. Embellishments are helpful but if youre strapped for cash and just goin for aotc or ksm id prolly not bother.

Tbh all my alts are alch just for the 90 minute flask. Not because I am pinching for gold, but because I am too lazy to keep track of it and having to restock 3x as often.

Also Alch alts are free money transmuting Dracothysts so there is also that.

Everything except augment runes are dirt cheap. If you do literally anything that is group content, you should have them. Augment runes, obviously, are the only exception because they’re always expensive.

I don’t use augment runes but I use all the other stuff. I don’t bother with them, except maybe food buff, in anything below a +15. They aren’t that expensive, being an alchemist and leveling cooking up helps a lot. Honestly, I never bothered to compare the difference between using them and not. I don’t have a meter addon installed bc I personally don’t care about the numbers.

I use bfa augment runes, not much of a buff but a buff is a buff.
