I’m thinking of maining a dev evoker and wondering if they’re in a good spot for soloability. I’ve seen some people say they’re too squishy, but these posts were from over a year ago.
What are your current thoughts?
I would have first said yes they would be too squishy to solo delves but one of my guild mates was just talking about how fun delves were on their devastation evoker and they are soloable.
So if you like dev evoker, I would give it a shot.

Eh. I don’t feel squishy. I haven’t tried 8s on my own, but I did through 7s solo with Brann as DPS no issues.
I leveled and killed rares and did Awakening Machine and a bunch of open world content without issue.

They aren’t the easiest but it’s doable. Solo dev has been my main and I have a good time hoovering around and melting things.
Bosses you can’t CC can be problematic, though. And in some delves there’s very little space to hoover.

You have it right to play a Dev Evoker as the Devs play that class and why it has just dominated every aspect of the game for the last 5 seasons. Coincidence they both use the name, Dev… i think not.
I solo 8’s on my evoker…about 585 ilvl so not geared. Requires a bit more thought than others but that’s why it’s fun
I’ve not heard any of my Evoker buds saying they’ve had difficulty with anything. They’re having a blast and loving it.
People saying Augmentation is the best build, but people don’t know how to play it because it the most complicated one out of the three and only hardcore gamers know how to play it correctly
Im loving mine. It is my main this xpac. Does great in world content, raids, M+ and in solo 8 delves.

They are probably the 2nd or 3rd best caster for solo content.
That said, you’re still a caster and by default your gameplay sucks and you are inferior to literally every mongo melee and faceroll babymode easy tank.

It’s fine but the fact you can’t CC bosses can get messy. Otherwise it’s fine.

They can be squishy if not geared right .
I just started clearing T5 last night. It’s a bit of a struggle if you try to facetank everything. But using the evoker’s mobility package/kiting makes for a good time! Hoping to try T6 this week if the servers survive maintenance.
I get by pretty well. Do T8s and can do T9 also. I haven’t tried T10 Delve yet. I play Devastation.
I solo delves on my devoker comfortably, gotta kite a bit but that’s not an issue for a class that casts while moving most of the time really.
T-8 are pretty easy as Dev, but Pres is a lot more challenging. I haven’t tried anything beyond T-8 yet. I run Delves on an Enhancement Shaman, Blood DK, Evoker, and Fury Warrior. The Dev Evoker is the easiest after the Blood DK, but not by much
I take the crap gear they give me. I’ve been perfectly fine.
