Are the majority of people queueing for dungeon finder to level up horrendous or relatively new to the game of World of Warcraft? Most of the players I am grouped up with mainly have quest item gear equipped, but others have heirloom gear. I recently came across a DPS that proclaimed he/she was playing since wrath but took as much damage (if not more) than the tank. I’m just wondering, are these players queueing for dungeon finder awful players or new to the game? Also tell me any experiences you’ve had while using dungeon finder as a tank, healer, or dps.
I’ve been playing for almost a decade and I’m like the baddest bad ever.
I have 50 toons and I know exactly 0 rotations.
Baddies are happier
So many factors could be indicative of them being ‘sub-par’ that I’m inclined to say that if you make it through without a death, give them a break.
It’s a game after all.
Mortis is correct.
quest item gear… Oh the horror, players actually playing the game as intended.
Most of the time my dungeon runs go just fine, sometimes players die, sometimes they cause wipes, sometimes the bear druid tank is wearing cloth heirloom gear and dies repeatedly. Dungeon still gets done… well OK, not the one with the cloth wearing tank but the others get done.
Stop exaggerating and stop expecting everyone to play at world best level
People queuing for the dungeon finder are young, old, middle aged, skilled, unskilled, average-skilled, intelligent, mentally challenged, physically challenged, nice, mean, indifferent, tall, short, thin, fat, and absolutely positively everything in-between.
I really love how we use spectrums in only some specific cases, as a people. And even then, across the “spectrum” you need to fit into one of four or five boxes.
Many things in life truly are a spectrum, as in, there are infinite permutations of the subject.
So, yes, some are horrendous and some are new to the game. Those are two out of the millions of different types of people that have used the Dungeon Finder over the years.
Hmm, quest gear and heirlooms…so like normal dungeons?
Is…does it actually matter? I mean unless you’re unlucky enough to get a group full of bads and not a single player that outgears the instance (somewhat unlikely this far into the expac) I honestly don’t see how one fails a normal dungeon
You tell us.
Yes
I mean, isn’t that where people are supposed to learn?
They are awful. It’s funny when you out dps them as a new max level and they are geared.
Honestly, it’s the dungeon finder. It’s not like you’re doing mythic + runs. So long as the run isn’t a totally wipe fest, who cares what gear players are wearing or how much damage they’re doing so long as everything dies.
Lets see have never been in one that has broken up like say;
LFR
Normal LFG
Heroic LFG
Mythic LFG
Mythic+ LFG
Timewalking LFG
Hard to say there is a problem with it, when compared to others. Even if some of the players have short comings.
I’m usually happy to help newbies in dungeons. As long as they try, I’m happy. It’s lazy jerks who don’t help with trash or afk during boss fights that cheese me off.
Also due to scaling weirdness, even a badly geared sub120 can often out DPS a relatively new 120.
So meh, it’s pot luck… You get what you get.
I think some of these statement are a bit hyperbolic.
You joke but 110-120 my feral druid was using an int staff heirloom and I couldnt figure out why my dps was so bad.
People not wearing heirlooms and taking damage from mechanics? OH THE HUMANITY!
Nobody has to learn their class or mechanics when everyone is handed heroic raiding ilvl gear around every corner.
I mean…Quest gear scales to your level when received? I’m not sure what the problem is here.
Anyway, there’s probably a healthy amount of newer players trying the game out since Classic is making waves. Be patient and try to explain things out to them if needed.
there has been a rash for about 10 days of HORRIBLE tanks on my servers. At least in classic thru cata dungeons, anyway.
multiple wipes, but they keep pulling, then cry when they die because the healer cant keep up even if he wants to.
Its not always this way. usually 90% of the runs are like clockwork.
Havent seen any problems with DPS or healers in that same timeframe thats been noteworthy.
