will they live forever barring any mortal wound?
Well, I would go with if we can play em and their health goes to zero⌠mortal.
i list them as mortal cuz
Spoilers
thereâs dead ones in the starting zone and many dying through out the questsImmortal, they lived for 10k years.
Yeah but thats because of the battling, not natural death.
Not immortal, just age slower just like elves and Draenei. Plus they were in cryosleep since before the sundering.
Dunno if that really counts. They were in stasis so all form of aging was halted.
As for my guess? I would definitely say mortal, but just long lived. How long lived I dunno, but a few thousand years lifespan wouldnât shock me.
Edit: It just occurs to me that you are prolly referencing the fact that their rations say 10k years in the flavour text, and Azurathel mentions that the rations should have been good for a lifetime while wondering why everything had gone to pot. So yeh, 10k years is prolly a good guess.
Dracthyr are not immortal. Theyâve just been cryogenically frozen with Walt Disney under Cinderellaâs Castle for 10,000 years.
Mortal like any other race. Like people already mentioned, theyâve just been taking a cryo-nap since forever.
Draenei are biological immortal. As in they cannot die of old age. There are âmiddle agedâ Draenei who were adults when they fled Argus. Velen was already an elder in his community during the exodus. So if they have a finite lifespan weâre looking at 50k plus.
Night elves WERE biologically immortal but somehow the burning od nordrassil took that away? Even though the tree seems fine now? Theyâre still mortals? Not sure about that.
Blood elves are mortal but can like ~3k years. High elves lost their connection to the well of eternity and the sunwell wasnât as potent for some reason even though moonwells were in night elf lands? Itâs confusing.
Nightborne were immortal. But they let the nightwell die (why???) so Iâm guessing theyâll become mortal again?
Elf lore is really weird.
Age lore is weird.
Trolls have extreme regeneration factor and can regrow limbs lore wise but their average life span is comparable to humans. Though I guess that makes a bit more sense. Good ol bwansamdi donât want trolls living forever.
Humans/Dwarves/Gnomes seem to be ~100 give or take a decade.
Undead are âbiologically immortalâ as in theyâre undead so they donât age. Some lore claims theyâll eventually lose all their skin and become skeletons but other lore contradicts this such as undead thousands of years old.
Not sure how worgen ages work. It a druidic curse tied to night elves originally so youâd think they wouldnât age. But honestly knowing blizzard and how they treat worgen no way theyâre giving them immortality. If anything theyâll all start dying when the curse turns into a disease that just kills you and then delete the race from the playable rosterâŚ
The animal races donât seem to be much different than the human ones?
I am not sure if void elves regained immortality. Theyâre part ethereal now.
I think orcs might have a slightly lower lifespan? But not entirely certain of that tbph.
Not sure weâve ever heard of a goblin dying of old age. They could be immortal but they inevitably blow themselves up first.
Dragons were biologically immortal. But they lost both their mortality and their egg lay ing ability with the dragon soul (why?). Dracthyr are experiments infused with dragon and mortal essence (most likely night elf and or troll).
Dunno if they age yet.
Theyâre like a lobster.
Biologically immortal but eventually fall victim to predators, or being unable to shed their shell.
do dragons shed?
Theyâre lizards in essenceâŚsoâŚmaybe?
Mortal because one died in the cinematic that and if they were immortal people would be crying in pvp
they molt⌠and the questlines show they are immortal since the bones still ring with life⌠when you do that questline in reachâŚ
Mortal. If Dragons can die of old age then Dracthyr definitely can.
Definitely mortal. But some of you need to learn that immortal doesnât necessarily mean invulnerable.
The Nelves were immortal when they were dying fighting the Legion in the war of the ancients. Immortal just means you wonât die of aging(and in some cases disease).
Blizzard tends to use the âYou canât die from natural causes but can die from other meansâ definition of immortality. For example Night Elves were immortal for a very, very long time but they could still die to bleeding out, getting chopped in half etc. They just couldnât die to âold ageâ or diseases.
You also have the Dragon Aspects prior to Deathwings defeat but Malygos was able to die.
Night Elves were never âbiologically immortalâ. Their immortality came from the Well of Eternity then Nozdormuâs blessing on Nordrassil afterwards.
In order to defeat Archimonde, Malfurion âpurgedâ the Aspects blessings on Nordrassil when he did the ritual to âkillâ the demon lord. It is mentioned directly in WC3. Tyrande even mentions that they will now age as âthese mortals doâ (referring to Thrall and Jaina) because of it.
Nozdormu wasnât around to bless Teldrassil following the events of Stormrage. Since he was having a panic attack after finding out his future and what that involves. Then when he recovered and was found by Thrall, it was time to come up with a plan to defeat Deathwing. After which he lost his aspect powers.
Only the aspects were. Normal dragons like Senagos were not immortal. Just very long lived. Senagos even admitted that he was using the arcane to artificially extend his life. Much like what Agewynn did when she refused to give up her powers as Guardian when her term (100 years) was up.
Malicia refers to other races as mortals, so likely immortal.
Mortal. Dracthyr are a mix of Dragons and Mortals. Neither of which are immortal. So why would Dracthyr be immortal?
We learn in the Blue Flight quest line in 10.1 that only the Aspects are immortal. Regular Dragons can die of old age.
