So are paladins really more holy than death knights? After seeing ret did not get the rework it deserved I started wondering this so I decided to do some research and I’ll enlighten you all on what I have found. First thing I found is that the DK NPCs will some times say “ashes to ashes” to you which is a direct reference to “genesis 3:19”. Furthermore If you have ran naxx or have done the DK order hall campaign you will have heard that the Death knights have the 4 horse men which are a reference to the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse mentioned in “revelations 6” To further this point and show it is not just a coincident death knights also have a passive called “on a pale horse” which seems to be a direct reference to “revations 6.8”. In conclusion it seems the reason ret did not get the buff we wanted is because it isnt the holy warrior dps we thought it was. In reality the dps paladin we wanted to play was just death knight all along.
No, Paladin are definitely a product of the Light whereas Death Knights are definitely a product of death.
Don’t try to analyze real-world scripture through a wow lens, it doesn’t fit.
But hey man, its an RPG you can play whatever type of character you want.
My DK is on the potato spectrum!
Yes, ashes to ashes, meaning from nothing to nothing, it’s about death… You know, because they’re deathknights.
“on a pale horse” which seems to be a direct reference to “revations 6.8”.
Which is about the rider DEATH.
Nothing about those quotes is “holy”… Have you actually read them?
Revelations is all about death, and the end times. End of the world, etc. It’s still unholly stuff they are talking about. The Dark Sider games were about the same stuff. Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. But I don’t think there was much holy about them. I Death Knight have my Judeo - Christian references to them. If there was references to Jesus in the paladin talent trees people would cringe or be angry. The paladin references are more subtle.
