Just got done playing an rbg match at 2k mmr. As soon as the team fight starts 4 of us instantly dc. This kept happening throughout the match. I have perfect net and neve have problems. These guys were really bad too. We wiped them multiple times when we were up.
What are the odds that they were cheating somehow and how exactly?
very rare right now. they were common 10 years ago. Unless you’re 2600+, you’re probably not being ddosed.

In order for someone to ddos you they have to have your ip address. In order for someone to ddos four of you concurrently they need all four public ip addresses. This is incredibly unlikely. There’s no simple way to get your ip address unless you intentionally share it, or are baited into clicking something like a link, or a compromised web site. Have you been clicking random bait links in discord recently ?
Years ago people used skype to queue, and it had a bad abstraction built into it’s peer to peer networking, that allowed knowledgeable parties to lift you ip address from their skype client; IF you were connect to a call with them, or had been connected to a call with them recently. This has long been fixed and no one uses skype anymore.
Discord doesn’t function the same way, so again, unless you are clicking things shouldn’t be, you probably just coincidentally experienced game lag.

There’s been a lot of in game lag the past week or two, since Blizz was ddosed. I have had multiple instances of 15+ second lag spikes where I have to stop what I’m doing. If I don’t I end up in a dc loop with a deserter debuff to boot. I do live in the boonies, and play on a potato though.
I do recall an Ashran during wod where someone pointed out a pally we should not attack, as anyone who attacked him was instantly getting disconnected.
The fact that “these guys were really bad too” seems to imply they were having connectivity issues as well.

When i played Destiny there was a community discord that shared IP addresses of known players/good players in Trials, only because it was P2P connections. If they can compile IP from some aspect of LFG or 3rd party resource then yes, it can be done and bank it in a database. Unlikely, but possible.
Not really possible, a BG does not have it’s own IP.
not common anymore, it used to be common back when skype was the go to for comms… however back at the end of legion there was a team around 2400 that would terrain glitch and spam report people in the bg to win.
We would all just instantly get DC and come back in the RBG muted after about 2 minutes waiting to reconnect.
you will find out that the scummiest of scum live in the RBG brackets.
