Are current crests still used for 10.2 upgrading?

and if so can we still obtain the old ones

10.1 crests will not be usable on 10.2 gear

There is 0 chance upgrade items from this season will upgrade or craft gear in the next season.

From what I can tell, the current crests become vendor trash, the new crests will drop in their stead wherever it’s appropriate, probably scaled down where also appropriate. You’ll get the new Whelpling crests from WQs, treasures, and the like, the new Drake crests from weeklies, big events, some rares, etc., and the Mythic+ breakpoints will probably be the same.

They’ll probably make it so Aberrus drops Whelp/Drake instead of Wyrm/Aspect on higher difficulties though, just so people aren’t cheesing top-level crests from it.

No, it will be a new currency and is only the same in name, the new ones will not be in your backpack and like valor

darn so i wont be able to upgrade season 2 gear with current crests or at all. rip heroic sets

Not likely, since the weekly cap is going down (90 crests per week, down from 150).

I imagine the s2 crests will just be renamed and be turned into junk and the s3 crests will have the same names from s2.

I highly doubt it otherwise it would be a non issue right off the bat. I have hundreds of each crest just sitting there.

Im waiting til the end of the season to vendor them if they dont add anything else to spend them on.
