While doing some old legion quests I noticed some rare instances in which there seem to be demons that aren’t hostile to you, but even help you in some cases. Typically I only saw this present in imps and some wyrmtongue npcs so I am not sure if they necessarily were born in the twisting nether or they just know better than to try and hurt you.
No. There’s an Archeology item that states that many Demons aren’t bad enough to do the Legion’s very important job of saving the universe from the Void Lords by eliminating mortal life, so they used chaos orbs to artificially make themselves violent.
Seems to me like someone as powerful as Sargeras could have at least attempted to find a less genocidal solution.
“Chaos does not come easily to all demons - some struggle with the ways of the Burning Legion. Those that did will often carried an enchanted orb that invoked the rage required of any good demon. It is not known how the orbs were made, or who made them.”
Warlock class hall are full of demons that do not serve the Legion. Is it because that they are not evil, or just known better not to mess with us, I do not know.

probably the second.
The solution was to drink when a Warlock offers a glowing green drink.
If you become a Demon you don’t need to die because you’ll live in the Twisting Nether outside the Universe.
The problem was that people kept refusing the damn drink lol
Ethereals are generally more like Goblins than demons and live in the Twisting Nether.

You are making me ponder a lot of things. Ya know its interesting. Someone in the demon hunter discord said that he felt that Sargeras was actually a hero.
Ethereals live wherever they can (including the Nether) because a Void Lord ate their planet.
They aren’t native to the Nether.
He’d be a hero to who or what is left.
Illidan was basically “Sargeras but small and bad at everything”.
Sargeras decided to replace his Arcane Magic with Fel and sacrifice all Mortal life in the universe to save the universe itself from the Void Lord.
Illidan decided to replace his Arcane Magic with Fel and “sacrifice everything” to save Azeroth from the Burning Legion dooming the Universe to be consumed by the Void Lords when they inevitably use a corrupted Azeroth to eat everything that is.
EDIT: Another point of similarity is how they were both considered betrayers, as Sargeras betrayed his Titanic brethren while Illidan betrayed the Kaldorei.
It’s a classic struggle of which is better, a perfect world with no one to live in it, or an imperfect world where who live there struggle everyday.
More like a perfect world with no one or no world at all because a tentacle monster ate the universe lol
Hmmm true, but what of the ones born there?
Fun fact: Never realised that these guys are actually Ethereals without clothes

Hmmm true, but what of the ones born there?
Are the Ethereals even reproducing?
I mean, their fun bits were destroyed along with the rest of their bodies. They are just living spirits.
We’re all creatures born from a twisting nether.

I understood that reference!
So if we look at things from the perspective that the illidari are evil, perhaps my demonic fel tinker self would probably be at the contrast to this. This is because when I rp as a demonic fel tinker, I have no association with the illidari nor am trying to kill demons. However I don’t think of submitting to the legion either.
In truth what is probably going to happen is that we will find a way to stop the void lords without ending mortal life and Sargeras will still go down as a crazed genocidal maniac.
The orphan matron says it’s not polite to ask about people’s nethers.
While its canon is mostly expunged, the old pen and paper RPG had entire cities in the Nether. Filled with all manner of denizens of varying moral compasses.
