Just checking since melee have no penalties when it comes to interrupts/silence/stuns, etc…
Melee can be rooted, polymorphed, cycloned, feared, silenced (looking at you Enhance) and other various CC.
I mean you stun a melee and its the same as stunning a caster. The same goes for other CCs such as those mentioned by Shenny. Root. Poly. Cyclone. Fear.
Learn to handle rather than letting the melee mongo you down
Melee generally lack range/reach.
All of that applies to casters too though? Melee can do all of those ccs to casters minus polymorph
Only thing similar to interrupt is disarm which is limited
I wish auto proc soulbind roots and stuns werent a thing though
I wouldnt bother being pvp orientated as caster. You’re like a t-rex all bite no arms youll need someone to hold the door for you.
How is it that it’s always people who have no clue what they’re talking about that decide to make these posts
Melee are penalised in other ways, like you know how when you are rooted and you can still hit your target? No so for melee unless the target is silly enough to stay right next to the melee.
That sums up how it feels nicely. Without a buddy you’re going to be kept harmless in some way or another until you’re dead, once you’re out of mobility and snare cooldowns.
It’s a bit better in random BGs than in arenas, though. Especially in epic BGs, with surprising frequency you can get away with hiding behind a hill or rock or something and freecasting while the enemy team is going nuts trying to kill a healer-backed tank.
Nope ,get pummeled
talking like Casters dont have instants. lol
Why would anyone root a caster?
So is interrupting? I don’t see a difference between the two.
There’s always Hex.
So they don’t get away/stand still for an area cc? Entangling into solarbeam or incapacitator happens. Getting steel trapped across the world also sucks
I don’t understand what you’re saying. Disarm is the closest cc reassembling an interrupt that a caster can do onto a melee. Disarm is closer to interrupt than any of the other things you mentioned. The only thing disarm does on a caster is prevent abilities like crusader strike for a holy paladin, whereas hex, cyclone and fear all affect casters equally as they do melee

There’s always Hex.
Enhance can hex and they’re melee? What. I’m saying the only cc melee don’t have is polymorph because all 3 specs of mage are casters. Hex, cyclone, fear, stuns, incaps can all be used by at least one melee
All those Mages, Shamans, and Priests seem to be doing just fine in Arena.

Warlocks, too. I do think that casters have a bit steeper of a learning curve than melee in pvp, though.
You can achieve 100% damage reduction from Melee by moving 10 yards away. It’s pretty strong.
yeah when they asked who would root a caster? i was like wow, they must not pvp… and then checked their profile. no they do not. save yourself a headache and dont bother with them anymore.
They do alright but melee dominates arena.
I would advice you to watch how pro casters play. You learn how they manage it.
Arena requires a bunch of coordination. If you can’t invest in stuff like voice chat you are in for a rude awakening.
Casters (besides Ele) are very very strong in PvP currently. Not sure why there are complaints.
