Are Brokers related to Order?

In the Broker’s cosmology chart, Order is represented by a gear with 4 flaming orbs around it, which is exactly like the Tazavesh Gearglider mount, a spinning gear-shaped disc with 4 flaming orbs. Since Brokers are thought to originate from the realm of Death, what could this possibly mean?

The Brokers were once another Race that shunned their name and form to pursue Anima according to the Grimoire.

They are probably either Ethereals or(considering their Flames’ Coloration) Devourers.

Fun thing to note: The Broker who wrote the Grimoire suggests the possibility that some Brokers are Nathrezim(explaining why some have Red Flames instead of Blue).

My theory is,

Zovaal was the originally the Arbiter, who resided within his own Realm.

For reference, I’ll just call this realm Eternia. (Eternal City)

Arbiter Zovaal lived in Eternia, within his castle Torghast. Torghast was originally the Karazhan of the Realm of Death. Filled with knowledge from all around the cosmic universe.

His helpers, paragons, servants, etc… were the Brokers.

But the Brokers, pre turning into their glowy eternal forms.

Arbiter Zovaal and his servants maintained order within the Shadowrealm, they made sure that souls were “categorized” and sent to their rightful place, they were in charged with the duties the Arbiter does now.

Arbiter Zovaal discovered something, or whatever happened, to cause him to rebel against the First Ones. The System was flawed.

Arbiter Zovaal asked his siblings to join him, to rebel vs the First Ones and “rewrite” history.

The Pantheon of Death refused, and fought back against Zovaal.

The result of the war was the actual destruction of the Realm “Eternia.” This shatter realm, became the Maw.

Torghast was the only thing surviving, and Zovaal had been banished to it.

Arbiter Zovaal’s servants, however, were treated as humanely as possible giving the circumstances. Using Kyrian magic, they erased their memories of being servants, and were scattered across the remaining First One’s outposts with no recollection of what had happened.

This is why they tend to seek knowledge but are usually absent from the other realms of the Shadow Lands. The Pantheon of Death don’t welcome Zovaal’s old servants into their domains.

The beings and creatures within Eternia, unfortunate enough to be there when the Realm was destroyed. Were sent into the In-Between to eventually be morphed into the Devourer creatures.

The symbol from the chart can be seen on touchstones (spirit healer replacement in the Shadowlands, to resurrect the players), and on the table of the First Ones in Oribos where you place the part of the Helm of Domination (which is how / why Bolvars gets there).

Given the curiosity of the brokers, it’s possible that the glider was created as they research the tech / leftovers of the First Ones, and that could be the source of the design.

In this case that could be possible that the real reason why the titans can be stable in the Great Dark Beyond while other creatures of that power level (as if that means anything in WoW), like Void Lords, cannot, might be because they are allowed to by design of the First Ones.

Does the pantheon of Order acts following the “orders” of the First Ones? Or they simply discovered something and continue the same path? Or they got into a trap and were manipulated in a way to act in interests of the First Ones?

All those and many other options are possible, but who knows what the dev team prepared.

As others have espoused I think it’s possible that the Brokers were once to Zovaal what the residents of Oribos and Korthia were to the Arbiter. They seem to have forgotten their origins, and the discovery of an ancient Broker mask in one of the weekly quests seems to hint towards this.

I kind of see the Arbiter, and by extent Zovaal, as the eternal of death most closely related to Order. Through their power they sort and catalogue souls, keeping a record of their entire lives and histories, and sort them into where they belong within the system of death.

Oh interesting. Which brokers have we seen that have red flames? I’ve only noticed blue.

So’azmi - NPC - World of Warcraft (wowhead.com)

All of them are assassins by the way… The exact role you’d expect a Nathrezim to fulfill.

Furthermore Nathrezim when killed in disguise don’t revert to their true identity anymore than a disguised Dragon does(Malygos’s Prime Consort Saragosa didn’t revert to Dragonform upon dying and had her Human-Form’s Corpse burned by us Players personally after we dumped it on a funeral pyre) so the only way you are going to confirm their true identity is to get Baroness Vashj into the Veiled Market.

Fun fact: Gallywix(who ditched the Horde) is there. We may have an idea of why the Brokers seem so interested in making money off of us… and why they know of our Void Storage and other things about us…

The Brokers(who clearly know little about the Cosmic Realms besides the Shadowlands) probably wouldn’t even have Void Storage if it weren’t for Gallywix(and his likely bribing of the Ethereals to obtain Vaultkeeper Status himself)!
