Are boomkins still in the meta?

Didnt see too many Boomkins in the tournament today, granted i didnt watch all of it. Im aware that mage and destro lock are the super star casters atm. What about boomkins though? Thought about dusting mine off, are they still decent?

Think a lot of moonkin went resto and with rdruids being so popular alongside MW, it’s hard to land root beam.

Regardless they still have strong damage, cyclone and nigh immunity to polymorph.

What’s bombs said man, root beams are ineffective vs rdruid abd that plays a major role. I meme they still have great damage and decent survivability and good cc and stuff, but destro locks just fill that role better at the moment.

I mean it’s viable, bottom line. Truth is, many specs are but tourney players are gonna use the ones that offer any ounce of advantage. They epitomize min/max. Definitely they’re still playable though.

even if it was 100% disc/rsham/hpala meta they would still be bad

thier damage outside of incarn is godawful

and when they do pop 3 min teams just lol and walk behind a pillar

I literally have 1 q. why did everyone cry about demon armor when boomie with honor talent basically has demon armor? is it just cos you have ti switch all the time.

Because boomies don’t have a wall that makes you uninterruptible or 17 roots/mini fears that require no casting, nor do they do as much damage. They simply aren’t as oppressive in an annoying way. Boomies do a ton of damage, even outside of cds despite what traffic says but it’s all manageable. They suffer a lot when trained/forced bear and turn into a rot spec that fluffs meters. Destro just /lol and 2 shot you regardless and if you tried to run, they controlled you well.

I’m completely biased here as a shaman since purging netherward, decursing having, grounding etc so to me when I’m paired with a good moonkin they can create far more windows to pump starsurges and burst than a destro can.

Destro when you let a few things go unchecked, like backdraft, reverse entropy double coil you can get 2 shotted but just because moonkin aren’t common anymore doesn’t mean they aren’t respectable threats

Oh I know, trust me man. That’s what I was saying, boomies still do ridiculous damage. I always have top in arenas. Always. But destroys are just far easier with most comps. Boomies don’t require much set up to do their damage. It’s somewhat sustain burst. Destros are more telegraphed but most people don’t really counter it well. Balance has never really been a super popular spec anyway. :frowning:

You will probably still top the meters playing boomy since the dots are so easy to apply.

But starsurge is hitting for 10k on a meta where people have 250k hp and any meaningful damage or burst done by the spec is too low. They are more like a support class right now since they can’t kill anything by themself.

At least they are still kinda tanky

Yeah, you guys are way way under exaggerating boomies competency. I’m not saying their damage isn’t a bit of fluff with dots but I have solar wrath’s hitting for 10k when empowered. You need to remember, boomies weren’t nerfed so much as other classes got buffed into the spotlight. They still hit hella hard. Pool 80 AP, pop on use trinket, starsurge once, pop incarn, starsurge 2 more times and you’re talking some good damage.
