This is a fantasy game where people throw fire balls. You want realistic, what do you think happens when fire hits metal? Those full metal full coverage prudish outfits would fry you alive. So whatever. Let us have our fun OUR way and you have your fun YOUR way. You don’t get to decide what we wear or say in real life, or in game. Jeez. Hard concept.
I detect troll who got lots of hits.
Not me lol I already stated I don’t agree with the OP but since the option to do that doesn’t affect you in theslightest, there’s literally no reason for you to waste any effort defending your POV other than to just be a lil jerk. People play for different reasons and having realistic armor may be part of what makes immersion better.
Fantasy and role playing elements aren’t good because they’re fake and people don’t necessarily play fantasy/fictional content to get immersed into more fakeness. They’re good when fictional parts feel real. That’s what makes a good fantasy show/video game with RPG elements. Hence why so many open world games work so hard in getting immersion down perfectly. TO make the world feel real. Even if it’s fictional. But that’s too hard for your small brain to comprehend so /shrug
There are tons of respectable, sturdy outfits to choose from. It’s good to have choices, so if people want to dress skimpy, it’s their choice and they should be allowed too.
No one is forcing you to dress skimpy, and no one should force others to dress fully covered.
In the real world and a fantasy world, people are going to dress not to your standards, due to different cultures and situational needs. Allowing choice makes things more vibrant, and the armor is glamoured to look how you want it to, that’s what transmog does. It’s illusion magic, you are still really wearing whatever it looked like originally.
I didn’t read all 224 posts, so i don’t know what you said before the post I actually replied to. In that one, you did not make your position clear. And the OP and others are downing (CONSTANTLY) women with larger chests who may like less coverage. So yea, that’s offensive to us. As to immersion and “realism” again, fireballs on cloth or metal, either one is bad. So what the hell, choose what you like and if what OTHERS wear messes with your immersion, too bad.
Again. Fantasy/fiction is good when the world feels more real to the players. SO if they are asking for something that doesn’t affect you at all, you are just being a pretentious dbag that goes into every forum and just disagrees with OP for no reason whatsoever. And this isliterally the first few comments I posted in this entire thread so you don’t have to go back and read all 200 comments to know context. What I stated is literally all the context you need. Individual wants something that doens’t affect you. Who cares if they get catered? Having more diversity only widens their audience which maximizes more profits which is win win for Blizzard.
All this “but it’s fantasy so it doesn’t have to be realistic” is just stupid. GoT for example was really popular early on because it was fantasy but the world itself felt realistic for audience. Then it was jarring to see how fast characters teleported from place to place in like the 2nd last season and have insane plot armor that never applied to characters previously. Yeah, there are dragons and magic and bunch of fake things but you ruin the execution of your fake world.
There is a previewer. Use it. Lay off my slinky gear.
I’m not saying “but it’s fantasy so it doesn’t have to be realistic”, I’m saying full coverage isn’t realistic EITHER. And i’m not saying they can’t have full coverage if that’s what they want. That is in the game and has always been in the game. I am saying their request that there be nothing BUT full coverage is wrong.
This is the wrong game for me to ask but I’d like more cute gear. I love cute stuff lol.
false, as someone who extensively collects transmog especially mail there are very very few revealing “pantie” models for mail let alone modern one, most are really really old models. why lie did you just assume no one here collects armor to call you out?
…I really don’t understand (some) women.
It does affect us though, because they are asking for something that will probably just get all the skimpy clothes removed, and so many people do like them. Everyone else’s wishes are just as important as OP.
OP is already catered to by the hundreds of non-skimpy clothing options. She doesn’t have to wear hot pants, there are dozens of other similar colored and styled items to choose from that could match whatever chest piece she’d like to match.
Blizzard can’t just tie different appearance options to the same piece of gear. They would have to pretty much remake a cosmetic variant for every piece of armor that someone has a problem with. I don’t see them going through the trouble and it would just be a bunch of modesty splates painted over middrifts.
Look at all breastplate armor, even for women. Full coverage isn’t realistic? lol you’re so lost in this.
Then look up Brienne of Tarth’s armor on google.
This is what a realistic female body armor looks like. This is not what the OP is asking for but this is it
Then look at Tyrande, Night Warrior. Look at Sylvanas body armor. Look at Ysera’s armor. I get she’s a dragon but her legging body armor has plates in the front, then in the back is basically an underwear.
Nevermind again, this literally doesn’t affect you AT ALL if they implement the option to have a more realistic model version for a given armor model.
God knows Blizzard is lazy af with armor models as it is copy/pasting bunch of reskins of the same models, and people are actually arguing AGAINST more diversity/armor model uniqueness? lol
And if Brienne got hit by a freaking pyroblast what do you think happens? She’d get rather hot and broiling/melting ashy rather fast don’t you think?
I feel as though your premise contradicts itself. How?
- It doesn’t affect him (or me, since I understood her argument.)
- Fantasy feels better when it’s grounded.
What number 1 says, is that having an option for a non-skimpy version of the Tmog won’t hurt those who want the skimpy version. I agree.
However, number 2 implies everyone’s experience in the fantasy world, and that it’s better when we all seem more grounded…which tells me you’re ok with ‘non-grounded’ armour (skimpy/unrealistic) being taken out.
Now, this may or may not be your argument, but after reading your post, that’s how I’m seeing it.
Also, GoT’s final seasons were bad due to it being rushed; the lack of realism was a result of lazy writing, so it was much more than just a lack of realism. I agree with the idea, but don’t believe it applies to WoW, especially with transmog options.
Ya it’s pretty clear you got like 0 reading comprehension lol
@Chawana, I never said everyone uniformly experiences fantasy that way. I’m explaining the context of the individual that WANTS the option. People like that want the option BECAUSE it delivers immersion/execution better. Bunch of people here are arguing against OP without regarding that and again it doesn’t affect any of you. No one is asking for skimpy outfits to get taken out… just give people the option to choose between a realistic version of the same model vs a skimpy one.
The only person who made the statement that Blizz WILL remove skimpy models was Hitchens or that other guy who for some reason just automatically assumes Blizzard will remove it.
You’re claiming “realistic looking armor” would somehow protect someone from dragon breath. I am reading just fine. You’re proposing the orc with an axe, and sure, full armor would help. I’m saying full armor would do frack all against fire melting that armor to their skin and burning them to death, so where is your “realism”. Oh the full armor is magic and defends them from fire? WELL SO IS THE SKIMPY AND IT DEFENDS US FROM ORCS WITH AXES.
The option for realistic armor is already in game. What others wear has nothing to do with them. Are you wanting a 3rd skin where THEY see us in non skimpy but we see us in skimpy? That’s so convoluted it would never happen, and as said, blizz would remove skimpy before they did it. But fine, if they DID do that (yea never) then I want a skin that shows everyone in skimpy.
That’s literally not what I’m saying and you should go back a few comments to where our argument started because the whole point of this argument is lost on you. “I am reading just fine” uh… like at this point I have to guess you’re trolling
What the heck am I reading wrong. What is your point. You mix your message as Chawana said.
Just look at the comment you’re replying to with this post. Did you just not read anything past the Brienne vs WoW character examples? You’re not reading anything. You’re literally nitpicking one point in every argument to say “Well that’s wrong because real body armor can’t protect you from magic” lol point is completely going over your head and you’re sitting there going “I don’t get how the point is going over my head.”
