Well, considering how many of us have suggested ATT, I’m thinking most if not all of us respectfully disagree on that matter.
And really? You’re going to complain about addon bloat after suggesting EIGHT addons?

I mean, considering I probably have more mounts, toys, achievements, petso etc, than anyone else in this thread, theres probably a good chance I do know better, yea.
There aren’t many on this forum that can rival my collection in terms of sheer volume.
I’m not saying ATT is totally useless. It has its uses, like I mentioned. The issue you’re failing to understand is that the add-ons I listed are simply more effective and more useful than ATT is for the OPs purposes. Again, not saying ATT won’t help, cause it will. But it’s just not worth using compared to how much more effective my add-ons list is.
As for memory usages, ATT is notorious for slowing load times due to the massive databases it pulls from. None of my add-ons are anyhere near as resource intensive.
At the end of the day, my add-ons simply do that ATT can’t. Last time I checked, ATT can’t direct you where to go on a map or remind you then certain opportunities arise etc. You’re trying to compare apples to oranges.
Simple armory will do what ATT can for mounts, but in a far more lightweight and effective manner. No add-on required.
I would never recommend ATT to a collector newbie. It’s like diving into the deep end without learning how to swim first.
How can someone be “bored to death” with content they’ve not even done? You levelled to max and did world quests and not much else by the look of it. Try doing the actual max level content if you’re after something to do in the game.
Mounts that are no longer available are usually mounts from promotions and from seasonal content (PvP Gladiator, raid AOTC, etc).
All others should be still available from normal vendors, reputation rewards, events or dungeon/raid drops (the latter with drop luck).
If you are fine with missing out on unobtainable like old gladiator mounts, some event mounts, CM phoenixes and things like that, then yeah, you can still get all the mounts. 99% of mounts are available and you might want to start working towards getting this season’s glad mount/saddle if you are really that into collecting all the available mounts.
Simple armory, data for azeroth and warcraft mounts are all good places to go for mounts. As a side note, if you look up the diamond M+ mount, you can see 2 possible tints on the warcraft mounts site, which is kinda cool.
A lot of mounts will take time, be it farming mythic end bosses for their .1% drop, or obtaining the Violet Proto drake which takes a year.
Don’t forget that some mounts are only available on the BMAH, like the black proto drake, the original ZG tiger/panther and the brutosaur.
Mount collecting is something that you truly never finish, because a new season is always in the future, which will have a slew of new mounts.
Im aotc and 2777io on my main rogue lol thats why.
The title is still in the game. You just have to complete the war campaign on at least one faction.
You only need two addons, maybe a third if you are desperate.
The foundation is “all the things”, it has everything you need if you ever feel like starting to collect things. It´s database gives you all quests, flights points, transmogs, achievements, mounts, pets …
You can either use the “warband” mode, where you track all chars at once, or the char mode, where you only track the char you are currently playing. You can also filter things that you won´t be going after.
So if you dislike pets, just disable them, if you dislike BMAH stuff, disable it, if you dislike unoptainables, disable it …
Since a while, they also added a small text under each missing thing, so that you don´t even need to open up wowhead anymore. It´s not fully implemented on all items or achievements yet, but it´s getting more and more.
If you want to collect stuff, then there is no better addon than this.
To make perect use of all the things, you should install “silver dragon”. It´s an addon that tracks down all rares, showing their location on the mini map. It goes back all the way to classic and also alerts you, if a rare is close by. This is especially helpful if you hunt down mounts from rares or world bosses, as it also shows their pathing on the map.
It does pretty much what the above do already, but is purely focused on mounts. You get a list and can click on each mount that is missing and will receive the locations of it. It shows you the vendor price in gold, tokens or whatever is required, like reputation.
No need to install tons of addons, or register at third party websites. These two / three are all you need. It is always better to run fewer addons, as too many can make your game very buggy and why install 10 if 1 does the job already?
No, a lot are gone.
AllTheThings is definitely the core of everything a new collector would want to start to learn where everything is.
Many of the addons you listed as essential are optional in my experience.
Some of them have great utility.
I wouldnt recommend a few of them for new players.
im having trouble with a few of the older ‘glory’ achieves where i need to get the hp of bosses to about 50 % to trigger something , im 1 shotting them (have tried removing all items and giving myself rez sickness but still 1 shotting them )
doesnt work on elites.
There’s an old list of mounts that are gone in this 2020 Wowhead comment. I’m assuming that more from raiding and M+ seasonal achievements are gone, too:
All the things is an addon to track that stuff
Yes, I was going to say. No one’s mentioned yet that a handful of achievements are technically still doable but require help, usually due to needing a boss at 50% as mentioned, or because it’s hardwired to require multiple people (Only The Penitent…).
There are entire communities on Discord dedicated to these things if you know where to look.
Again, I disagree. ATT is information overload and can make a new collecors life far more daunting than it needs to be. Of course, your mileage may vary. But I find setting more constrained and focused goals, which are basically larger goals, broken up into smaller milestones, to be a far more effective way at starting ones journey.
Eventually, once a new collector has learnt the basics and what they want to go after and how best do so, that’s when ATT can be very helpful.
And again, the add-ons I listed are very different to ATT. You can’t really compare them. ATT doesn’t really help you figure how to get what you want. That’s where my add-ons come into play. And if you’re just focusing on mounts (like what the OP was asking) then simple armory is far better for that than ATT is.
Several of em been removed from availability.
But that is not true.
Why should he register at a third party website, only to see an armory like list of things, that he can already see by opening the mount or achievement window inside WOW?
There is a very good mount tracking addon that is optional to ATT, as I mentioned, there is no need for anything else. You added addons that are an addition for people who want to be hardcore in collecting, that want to track every downtime, perfect their rotations and the like.
I do not think that this is something the OP was looking for. He just want´s to start with collecting and there I agree with many here, ATT is a perfect entry to the buisness. You said it yourself, you collect a lot of stuff, so for you perfection every day is key, but that is not something for a beginner who just wants to have a look at what he can collect and where.
You kept claiming that ATT doesn´t do certain things, but it actually does.
ATT does also tell it´s user exactly where something does come from. You miss a flightpath, well it tells you which one, so you open your map and can fly there. They keep adding additiona text under each item, mount, achievement… so that you don´t even need wowhead anymore for most things.
You miss a transmog, well ATT tells you the mob it drops from, or the quest you have not done yet, or the achievement that is missing in the area…
The Tomtom addon can be helpful, but is not really needed if you have Silver Dragon as it shows you exactly the path or location of each rare.
ATT also does track achievements, it also tells you if you already did the dungeon / raid and are locked out and if so in which difficulty, so why install further addons that only do that?
Either you never truly did try ATT or it has been years since you did. You can literally only track mounts with it, if you like, nothing else will pop up then if you configure it that way.
I don´t know, if I wouldn´t know better then I would guess you did design those addons and want to have some clicks.
No offence.
There’s way too many things wrong with your post but honestly, it would take too long for me to debunk it all.
So instead I’ll just say, you’re wrong, ATT is a terrible suggestion for a new collector and is not appropriate for the OPs use case as you repeatedly keep ignoring. You keep ignoring the fact that the OP explicitly mentioned just achievements and mounts. ATT is far from a good suggestion for those two specific things.

You just made it very obvious that you are trolling, thank you. You can filter ATT in such a way, that you only see achievements and mounts, as many have mentioned here.
