what kind of hand/eye coordination to you think someone who has been playing video games for 30 years has? and more specifically, someone who plays a lot of music rhythm games on the hardest difficulties?
sub 100ms windows are plenty. why do you think 300ms latency feels unplayable for a lot of people?
I forget what age peoples reflexes start declining, but guesstimating at around 30 you arenāt as quick as you once were.
That being said, Iām not buying it. I donāt doubt there are pros who can do it, but based on some of the playstyles Iāve seen in randoms its highly suspicious that a lot can play terribly but just so happen to never fall for a fake and always smash their interrupt at the last millisecond.
I donāt think they are actually an issue right now. Kickbots are made more to insta kick the heal, not allowing for a juke (used to be a thing with fls in wod. The feral and lock would just insta kick the heal off CD).
I have zero issues juking right now. I go to 50% and I burn every interrupt. Very rarely is there a player who waits until longer and when you look theyāre usually just an above average player. High damage and capping nodes and stuff.
Iām going to put on my tinfoil hat here, but I wouldnāt be surprised if there was a kickbot that will only kick at the literal last second so they never have to worry about wasting an interrupt.
Reflex time slows very early. From studies Iāve read itās peak is 12/13 area. Essentially pretty much all our butts would get kicked by a 13 yr old that knew how to play the game. Their response time is pure lightning.
I used to play HL2DM with A_Seagull when he was 12. He was Vdus, I was Mfya. His response time was scary fast. He won the fios tourney but got disqualified due to his age (cash prize). Super nice kid, btw. I enjoyed hanging with him, heās a joy to play with.
the generally accepted tradeoff is that adults have experience and wisdom over reaction time. however that is a general rule and doesnāt apply to everyone. you also need to remember that they donāt want crusty old adults in esports regardless of how good or fast they still are.
I think Valarien comes from the holy paladin healing perspective, where -any- interrupt at -any- point, is awful. I find add-ons that provide additional āhealer presence awarenessā to be more problematic.
Iāve healed thousands of bgs over the years and I donāt think Iāve ever heard someone tell me I did āalrightā.
Seems like Iām either a god or Iām god awful depending on the end result of the bg, thereās very room in the middle between the two extremes.
One other thing, we need another ban wave for scripters and kickbots. Reflexes are one thing, but when youāre getting kicked at the same % several times in a row, thatās not a kid with stellar reflexes, thatās a script thatās been manufactured and set to kick a cast at a particular %
I will freely admit Iām a garbage PvP healer, but itās because playing it safe isnāt my forte.
All the times joining BGs to br met with no healers vs their having healers was enough to make me level one; but I will always be melee at heart so I tend to charge in recklessly regardless of what Iām playing.
Thatās true, but if you break down percentages, Iād imagine a small percent of healers are bad like that.
Even if the healer isnāt a pro PvPer, they can still move with the group and heal the not-full health bars. They may not be giving melee BoF or Angelic Feathers, but they can still heal because itās generally the same mechanic as in PvE.
Sadly, this STILL happens to me all of the time in flag capture games. Someone grabs flag and leaves me in the dust with enemy on me ccing and attacking meā¦then they usually die⦠often getting mad at lack of healsā¦like wtf?!
