So far the most evil of the covenants is in fact Ardenweald. They commit the ultimate murder to what, save more? Sounds like the culling of Strat accept the souls they were being systematically slaughtering werent a danger to anyone. So we kill, in order to save. Right.
Ursoc deserved better. He had been through hell in the nightmare only to be killed, then, instead of a eternal rest he gets an eternal death by someone who called him friend, some who swore to protect him. Same reason Devos left, a misguided, corrupted form of self righteousness, “the path” which we all know now is flawed. This time, Ursoc paid for it, not mention all of the others.
If the jailer caused the death of these souls, that’s one thing, but you dont wade into the black waters with him.
Ardenweald must be purged.

It is simple. We leave 100 souls be, and millions of souls (in the future) will be lost because Ardenweald is dead. Or we could sacrifice 100 souls to save millions in the future.
Although it’s pretty messed up dealing with people’s eternal place. And Devos was no angel to begin with, by “confronting Kyrestia” she legit walked up and ripped into her telling her it’s flawed, she didn’t deserve to be in Bastion to begin with.

Blame Sylvanas and the Jailer before the Winter Queen and the rest of Ardenweald. Let’s focus our priorities on the people actually responsible for putting them in that hard choice.

They sacrificed everything, what have you given?!

Sometimes all of the good choices are off the menu. Sometimes your choices start at bad and gurgle noisily down the toilet from there.
That’s the situation I see here. And lo, it sucketh to wear those shoes.

If Ardenweald is lost, no more mortals will be reborn. This means that all life on Azeroth currently would eventually die and never be replaced, no children being born. It would lead to utter ruination.
This is the fault of Sylvanas and the Jailer, the Winter Queen had never needed to make such a sacrifice before they interfered in the Cycle. Additionally, you must not be familiar with Ursoc and his philosophy. He was a mighty Guardian, who gladly gave his life time and again to aid the beings of Azeroth.
It is entirely within reason that given the choice himself, he would have chosen to sacrifice himself. You also forget that the Winter Queen can communicate telepathically with all Souls under her care, and for all we know she and Ursoc spoke at length during the many Seasons he had been there.
I urge you to set aside your initial bias and actually play the expansion first before making such grandiose statements.

No. You fight the cause of the issue. If further more innocents die at THEIR hand, you fight harder, until death or until you win, you dont become the evil you are fighting by doing EXACTLY what they are doing, just in a smaller scale.
Death to the Winter Queen!

Couldn’t they just forcefully reincarnate those souls back to Azeroth or are they using them to feed the rest of the forest.
The Winter queen is to blame. If she had given them a choice to sacrifice themselves I don’t think we’d be having this discussion.

There’s a rather fitting parallel with Redcloak’s views in Order of the Stick, and how it doesn’t stand to actual moral scrutiny. In comic # 1212, to be precise (can’t link).
You’re putting a bunch of imaginary goblins in the future ahead of the ones alive right now!
It didn’t look like Ursoc was in a state where he could be asked.
People would have had them do nothing about it until Ardenweald died, and then they’d say the Winter Queen was incompetent because she didn’t do anything to prevent it.

There is a part of me that feels like we will end up killing the queen for some reason or another
Man these covenants lore-wise are sounding more and more reprehensible. I don’t even follow the lore, but from what I’ve seen on the forums, Kyrians are basically slave masters and disgusting mind-wiping fascists. And now this. Wew lads

Sylvannas was right. The world is a prison. All Azeroth has been doing is serving as a pipeline of anima juice to the shadowlands so they can stay in power. First sign of trouble and they cull there own, or ignore clear and true threats(looking at u bastion archon). I think she is on to something. I think the so called covenants are evil AF. I think Sylvannas wants to bring it all down. I think she should.

She gave the grove tender the choice and he made it. The choice wouldn’t have had to be made if the Jailer wasn’t siphoning all the souls. Blame lays on him for forcing a hard decision to be made, and he will answer for that. Along with his new arm candy.
