Ardenweald and bastion hurt my eyes

I’m not exaggerating, I literally got a headache from staying there during the covenant missions and campaign.
I thought about just diminishing the gamma/light effect but it looks weird

I cant do the achievments like shadowlands dielettante or farm the mounts there, I literally cant

am I blaming blizzard? perhaps, Iam bit confused, I never experienced this in any game in my entire life and I played a lot, either other wow zones, everything is fine besides shadowlands bastion and ardenweald.

which makes me believe that it can’t just be me, but a bad design of these specific areas

anyone share the same feeling? I’m not a hardcore player but I can do the basic stuff, I’ve never had any problems in raids or dungeons mechanics, not even epic bgs make me feel bad as these two shadowlands zones.

there is a real problem with this zones or Iam just ‘‘lucky’’ ?

Ardenweald is OK for me, But I agree with the absurd high ligntness of Bastion.

Imo, Zerith Mortis is far worse when it comes to bright colors, the skybox is painful to look at.

I have the same issue kinda, my eyes hurt in those zones. The below command helped me - Just type this in-game:

/console ffxglow “0”

Isn’t super significant, but does help. Or, you can stock buy Inky Black Potions when Darkmoon Faire is around.

I like to use the inky black potion in those areas to help mitigate the migraines such areas can induce :.(

When I’m in the zones themselves I don’t get that. But when I’m using the flight path through the in-between, there’s a very brief moment where the whole screen turns completely white.

I’ve always had to minimize WoW every time I travel between the zones. Because I just can’t look at the schlop all over my screen.

I haven’t with those areas but with the emerald dream when it gets all foggy. There was a quest that turned it all foggy and then a small event that you can do to collect the dew drops. I hate that effect, it hurts my eyes a lot. Hope they move on from that forever

They make computer glasses that are supposed to help those with issues. I believe the lenses are orange. You might want to check into them if you have an eye condition that causes these issues. Or make sure you are a proper distance.

The zones were an appropriate brightness. Bastion was basically a bright land. Kinda like the fields of grain in Gladiator and that belief in the afterlife. Ardenwield was a forest like Ashenvale.

Ardenweald isn’t even that bright. Maybe you’re sensitive to blue light.

Bastion is bright as heck

Ardenweald is not bright but I think your eyes are sensitive to whatever it is in ardenweald.

Just looking at the oribos portal in our portal room makes my eyes bleed.

Gnomeregan still hurts my eyes.

Adjust your gamma. It makes a huge difference when it’s properly set.

Play around with your Brightness, Contrast and Gamma settings.

I max my contrast, with higher brightness and lower gamma so that lights and sunlight look bright and shadows look dark. With Nvidia’s Overlay I add a Sharpen+ filter and I find it makes the experience more immersive. But that’s besides the point.

You have more control here than you might realize. Play around with the settings until it’s comfortable with you.

Turn down the brightness and contrast?

I actually liked the lighting in those zones when I had the lighting in my gaming room sync with my gaming PC.

It’s funny since I find Bastion STUNNING and could spend hours just looking at the pretty bright marbled pastels of the zone.

To each their own.

Did you try lowering the brightness on your monitor?
