I’ve done a lot of reps and I’d easily rate Codex as one of the worst things ever devised. It’s like intentionally anti-fun and grindy beyond belief.
9.1.5 is buffing it to some degrees, but I don’t know how much it’ll actually help. What they need to do is buff it so relics convert to a 1:1 rate. 1 relic = 1 rep would help immensely. Right now it’s half of that so you get no rep for all your efforts.

It’s crazy. I’ve found all the treasures… What is most surprising about finding all the treasures is that the archivist doesn’t even acknowledge it. He just gives you the same speech he gives you whenever you find an object.
But at least you get an achievement. No extra reputation, no gold, no anima, nothing. Just some useless achievement. I don’t understand why they make this so unfun. 
I honestly didn’t even know you could get sockets out of Torghast. I guess my luck hasn’t been too good. =/

You can buy them for 1000 Soul Cinders from the npc who sells the chisel. But might need Death’s Advance exalted. Not sure about that last bit. Not the fastest route either…but way better than the seemingly endless grind!

My most active character is about to hit tier 5, but I stopped farming the items long time ago, ithe amount of effort required to reach tier 6 is not worth it.

Have you been doing the things that actually give Archivist rep or are you just doing dailies?
Also: I’m doing it the long way on purpose, because honestly… I’m not in a hurry. We won’t be getting new content for probably 6 months.

I make sure to do the dailies that give the archivist rep, and I look around for the special treasures around the map, while participating to the elite events.
I generally stop when I get my soultwining crescent. I mean, I can’t be doing Korthia forever. I have so many other things to do. =/

it’s not terrible. i’m 14500/16000 and only do the rep quests and whatever objectives i see on my way to objectives.

How is that even possible?
You need to do the rift stuff, treasures and rares. You can’t be in Korthia forever, because you get diminishing returns.

Trust me, the diminishing returns aren’t an issue for me in Korthia.

I’m 10k away! I get around 500 reputation each day on average… So I should be there in 20 days. When I’ll also be 80 renown. It’s almost like it was carefully planned for things to end all at the same time. =|

yeah no kidding. it boggles my mind how many are willin to take it in the rear for this game to keep making bad choices and champion that they are great while the people championing them barely do it themselves. thats the ironic part.
