Archimonde is Still at Work

What do you suppose this bad guy is up to now that the Burning Legion has fallen?

Maybe he’s reforming the Legion?

I mean, sure, we killed the alternate timeline version of him. But what about the current timeline version of him?

Source that the one we killed was the alt timeline kj?

Source that he wasn’t?

Why would the MU one be attempting to corrupt the AU orcs?

Got it you have no proof.

We have no proof there even was an alt timeline kj. Guldan got sent to our current time line and started legion, anything we fought in legion would be current timeline villains.

Maybe an alternate one exists, but probably won’t be hearing from him.

Did I miss something in the maghar recruitment scenario? Archimonde was the one handling the AU I thought.

Ops you are right. All the evil fridges look the same to me.

It would be interesting if MU Archimonde came along, twirling his mustache, to conquer Azeroth with whatever Legion he was able to cobble together…

… only to find an old god & void infested planet.

“The master was right to be concerned!”

And he sets about to save Azeroth (so they can purge it with fire), and finds that he can set aside his differences with Velen.

The Archimonde killed at the end of WoD is the one and only Archimonde – he and others of his ilk are unique across all timelines. And since he supposedly died in the Twisting Nether, he’s permanently dead.

He didn’t.

He died on Draenor.

I totally read KilJaden in the op.

The op is still wrong though. Archy is dead in all timelines.

Who says the cinematic is canon?

If we can’t trust the game’s own cinematics, we can’t trust anything. All lore is a lie, and Arthas is crashing at my apartment.

I don’t recall the Twisting Nether binding all realities and timelines.

If it did, then Sargaras wouldn’t have had as difficult a time as he did to reach Azeroth in the first place.

Blizzard seems to conform to branching vs. linear time…

We killed AU and our timelines Archimonde, he’s dead.

We killed our timelines KJ in the Twisting Nether, he’s super dead.

To run that back though… Didn’t Archimonde die via Wisps? His soul should respawn in the nether as far as im aware… You can only perma-kill demons in the nether.

Afrasiabi revealed that on Twitter back in 2015 (WoD).

Whoah, seems like they overlooked quite a plot hole, then.

Mythic raid we went to the twisting realm and did the kill there?

He takes us to the Twisting Nether, gets beaten, takes us back to reality, sends Gul’dan to Azeroth and dies in reality, right in front of the Dark Portal of AU Draenor.

His true form took lethal damage in the Nether realm. The cinematic just shows the last gasps of his current avatar.

Regardless, this is based on an old and inaccurate assessment. Demons could still come back after dying in the Nether. Operative word being “could.” We destroyed Antorus and killed Argus before Archimonde could be rezzed. He’s not coming back.
