Yeah, the event is different. We’re talking about the new mechanics for Archives dailies. The event isn’t too bad, although it seems some (most?) of the jobs are buggy. I’ve gotten some that don’t complete, some that are missing items, etc., etc. But, there’s always just digging.

Weird I haven’t seen any dailies.
I haven’t tried it yet but Blizzard is known for taking something that is simple and relaxing and make it “overcomplicated” and annoying to do.
Current professions could be a good example of this, imo.

You only get the dailies once you do the quests in that tower.

I’d rather have back Archaeology where I can do it alone and be by myself instead of 5,000 pets (hunters/locks)
and toys and other crap all over the dig area…

I guess I must have missed a whole patch of quests somewhere. I did all of the quests for the chapters I think, and perhaps even did all of the optional side ones as well. But that’s interesting, so I’m phased out of whatever that stuff is I guess.
If you haven’t been to that tower yet you should have a quest in your adventure guide or able to pick it up from the inn.
I mean I went to it and got the weekly quest but saw nothing else.
Once you do all the quest line this week you can do the dig over and over to get more Fragments…next week we will get a reset and have another place to dig …
Arch was fun chasing down epics/mounts/rares and just leveling a tradeskill profession.
This is just annoying. Please end this kind of stuff ASAP. If you want it in the game revive ARchaelogy and add profession questlines.

They at least got one thing right, it is just as tedious and angering as real archeology.

oh my you are missing a bunch of ‘fun’ stuff then - some of those quests are really bad.
pretty sure you can do the big digs over and again without doing the entire questline - I only did the first couple of quests and was doing them all yesterday and the day before.

Yeah you can do the big dig as much as you want on as many alts as you want, but you only get the big reward once a week per account.
Since I’m stupid, I’ve started doing it on multiple alts and I’m even unlocking the dailies on alts in the hopes I can buy the cosmetics I want before I burn out on the content.
The techno-scrying is a fine successor to Archaeology’s hot and cold style of gameplay.
The elemental assisted excavation mini game, however, is horrendous.
