My suggestion: Make a mount that will let us survey and pick up fragments while mounted.

I tried doing that on my bone raptor but gets all bitey, he tends to eat the artifacts but no big deal because they fall out of his rib cage.

Regardless a mount that would make archeology easier

I would pay extra for a mount that did that occasionally during arch. hunts!

It would do an animation of “eating” the artifact and you have to pick it up, but it would make it the ‘restored artifact’ :smiley:

Wouldn’t be any more lore/immersion breaking than some of the mounts we have now (motorcycles, goblin trikes, etc).

Something based off the Mars Rover would be both a good homage and looks fit for the job with its radar and grabbing arm.

They should make this into mount equipment. And do it to the Sky Golem too while they are at it. Mining and skinning ones would be nice as well.

I actually enjoy fishing more than archaeology and that is saying a lot.

Considering you have to wander all over each archaeology site and possibly re-mount multiple times, it sure would make even bothering with the profession loads easier.

Dunno why they never implemented something like this after they realized nobody was going to do such a boring task over and over.

I know this isn’t what you meant, but I did do just enough archeology to get the moose mount. Overall I’m not too into archaeology or pet battles, but yes your idea is good.

This would be perfect. As long as it works with the Coarse Leather Barding. Because you know they wont give us a mount that has that automatically built in.

Yes, Arch. is easier on my Drood, but I’m not always doing Arch. on my Drood. Why should I be stuck doing it on one toon? Sorry, not a helpful suggestion.

You aren’t stuck doing archaelogy on one character. Other characters have different benefits. I will often do on my rogue because I can stealth in areas with mobs and then just sap ones around.
