This ability is sorely in need of a buff. It hasn’t been touched since September 5th, 2023! It is still 150% of spell power *4 over four seconds.
One second: 150%
Two seconds: 300%
Three seconds: 450%
Four seconds: 600%
It isn’t affected by haste either. Meanwhile, Eternity Surge hits harder (682% SP), is quicker to cast (2.5 seconds) and a shorter cool down (30 seconds). Not only that, you can make it an instant cast!
Look, it isn’t fair to compare spells, but it also isn’t cool to leave a spell alone for over a year! Arcanosphere needs some love. Even Glacial Spike hits harder, no CD, and is affected by haste with a baseline shorter casting time.
That’s all.
I am done being a goober. Just love Arcanosphere, looks so cool.

Agreed.
Blizz is so weird (lazy?) in how they just let certain abilities sit and gather dust.
Arcanosphere at full charge should be a real mega heavy hitter. It’s a long cast, and very hard to get the hit you want — in BGs at least.

In 635 PvP gear, I hit another player for this:
14:16:00> [Your] [Arcanosphere] hit [Alharis-Kel’Thuzad] 561,185 Arcane.
This was a 4 second channel. Ridiculous lol.

It is my favorite spell to cast into a crowd of enemies in a BG or Epic BG, watch the numbers go crazy for a hot second and then bounce all around. But agree OP it could use some love.
*Additional plug for PVP talents to be usable in delves

Well back when it did hit like a truck it literally became the meta and you could cast it and channel it from invis and basically take out an entire group without them ever even seeing you. The way people flamed about it on the forums back then was legendary, lol. Same thing with Displacement back in Legion. Basically if casters get even the slightest edge in PvP the melee lose all of their marbles and Blizzard cave in the face of all that nerdrage and smack us with the nerf bat, hard.

That was so fun, it was only through mass invisibility though and then, it was also only a PvP talent. Went through a couple changes and now, it is just a shadow of its former self. Truly, sad.
Yet, hunters can open with a sniper shot or aimed shot that can take a chunk out of your health, and that is “okay”…
Arcanosphere needs a buff, no doubt about it.
It should be an ability that is different and unique to arcane on par with ice wall or ring of fire, my idea would be something like:
Focuses an arcane tempest on the target (can be cast through walls), accumulating over 4 seconds. (think of a blizzard that follows the target). While within an arcane tempest, cooldowns are slowed by 80% and all magic effects have a 20% chance to miss affected targets. (helpful magic buffs like resto druid hots, disc shields etc)
1 second: 5 yard radius, 2 second duration
2 seconds: 10 yard radius, 4 second duration
3 seconds: 15 yard radius, 6 second duration
4 seconds: 20 yard radius, 8 second duration
could be simplified by just saying: affected targets have a 20% chance to miss all magic spells cast
Well, thank you Blizzard!
Arcanosphere damage was increased by 40%!
It is a start. Going to see how it feels, because hitting for 800k to 1.1 million on a 4 second channel, did not feel good!
