i have the suramar questline completed. i am exhalted with them. idr if i was ever offered the quest for killing the guy in the nighthold but thylassara doesnt have the mount for me and the mage guy doesnt have the quest.
Yes. You can still get it. I think you get the quest to go into the Nighthold, and at the end thats your reward. It's still there :D

Just unlock the Nightborne race, make one, go through the portal to Org from the starting area, go back through the portal to Suramar, and buy it for free.
The guy who makes all the portals has the quest for you, not Thalyssra. Oculeth or something. I just got mine yesterday after running Nighthold.
I think you have to completely do the Suramar questline. It's quite long. And quite fun.

Complete the whole storyline then go talk to Oculeth. Once you get his quest go ahead and make a group for Nighthold because I don't think its soloble. But once you kill Gul'dad you can complete the quest and get the mount.
There's a second major questline for that place AFTER exalted. You only finished the first, the second long one offers the mount.
A hunter can solo Gul'Dan for sure. I solo'd him on my warlock on normal and heroic. Easy.

Complete Insurrection questline, at end you get "lord of the shadow Council" (kill guldan.)
You can just do Guldan as an LFR, over in seconds ( Lord of the Shadow Council.) So no need to "find a group", or solo him.
Then you talk to Khadgar IN the instance still, after the kill.
I had all the quests done, up to this, then put it off not feeling like doing an LFR (though I did do the LFR required for flight, on my hunter.) Then I queued for it and it was over very fast.

You can do this quest in LFR.
Choose Betrayer's Rise in the Raid Finder tool.
Don't leave the instance right after the kill.

When you get the quest from Oculeth, he sends you to a solo instance of the raid. You don't fight anything in there. I think that, if you even tried doing the quest in an actual raid, it would not work.

there was nothing fun about it and quite long it was and gated!
Do you have to be a horde toon or can I unlock the nightborne from the ally side?
There is a quest to kill the dude in that raid. You can do it Lfr.
After you kill him, you don’t leave and talk to that druid dude.
Yes, you do the Lfr, or above, for guldan. It was one of two raids Lfr I did. The other was to fly.
You need a 110 horde
Thanks everyone for the replies, i played through legion so i had the suramar stuff done i honestly only had to run into the dungeon and grab the quest. But i have had my Arcanist Saber mount now for over a month! Thank you for all the replies
