Arcane with Equipoise

So will stacking this artifact trait make the burst mode much longer now?

Reads that way, doesn’t it?

Conserve phase does more damage and burn phase lasts longer so does more damage?

Still stuck spamming arcane blast to do damage.

Id like to see some simulations on the damage increase compared to prepatch. I know the EU servers have a substantially larger arcane mage population compared to NA … many of course being Nightborne.

The main question is whether or not the mana reduction stacks. Someone alluded in a different thread that their testing on the PTR showed only the damage portion stacks, meaning it’s just a worse version of Galvanizing once you have a single item that has the trait.

I genuinely hope that’s not the case because actively needing to ā€˜dodge’ certain pieces to avoid dead traits is exactly what this patch is trying to address. Not holding my breath though.

The revised Arcane Pummeling looks promising for PvP at least.

The problem is that according to wowhead the mana might stack but it does not appear to increase the value of mana saved with ilvl. For example on their slider ilvl simulator it shows the same mana value for a 300 ilvl vs a 385 one. Which means that you only save a maximum potential for 570 per cast if you have 3 traits. To put that in perspective if true it means your 13,750 cost AB spells go only down to 13,240 per cast. One might be able to squeeze off 1 or 2 extra casts of AB with 3 stacks of the trait if the tooltip is true.

One key thing to note here that I hadn’t realized (and seems a little more obvious now that I think about it) is that the mana reduction is applied to the spell’s base mana cost. I.e, it factors it in before taking into account the mana cost increase from your charges. The spell cost for me was reduced from 13,750 to 12,800 in this instance.

I only have a single piece of Azerite gear with the trait so I can’t really test stacking unfortunately. Even then, with only having 1 piece of gear with Equipoise it effectively serves as a decent damage boost during your opening burst and any burns above 70%, while on the flip side saving you a great deal of mana over the course of an encounter.

For reference, it seems like for every 14 4xAB cast below 70% mana, you would have saved enough to cast a ā€˜free’ one.

I’m going to try it out tonight when i log on.

I want to try a stack of Equipose with Galvanizing spark. The combined damage burst above 70% mana with the additional ā€œmana savingsā€ of the % chance for an extra charge/more frequent ability to clear stacks should be interesting.

According to icy veins, the damage bonus stacks but not the mana reduction. The list of BiS Azerite traits for Arcane ST still lists Galvanizing spark as the best.

probably the best website ive found for stacking azerite traits
