Arcane Orb and Rune of Power: Baseline please

It’s really frustrating having active abilities on the talent tree, let alone ones that complete specs.

Arcane Orb baseline - YES, YES and YES
Rune of Power baseline - Absolutly NO

With the recent change to the duration of Rune of Power we are even longer anchored to an area and that feels bad.
In addition Rune of Power is now even much stronger than what we have on live , so the other 2 Talents are completly dead for pve.
You should change the duration to 10 Seconds but ONLY for the 1 charge we can use freely.
And maybe increase the range from 8 yards to 12 yards :wink:

I wish they’d nuke the entire rune of power, incanter’s flow, focus magic tier from orbit, scatter the ashes to the wind, and leave a note behind to never add them back to the game. RoP feels like an anchor chained to the mage class that defines how powerful all other abilities can be.

I would, however, like for arcane orb to be baseline.

if RoP was baseline and then the talent made it so that it followed you around… that would work

LMAO have the rune follow you around?! Come on man, everyone knows that would be incredibly broken and make zero sense. RoP needs to be a talent and the other two on the tier need to be changed to be able to compete. Arcane Orb, yes should be baseline but then Blizz might see it too close to Frost since they have an orb.

Not that I want RoP at all, but it’s no more op than most of what other dps have. It’s not like it lets you cast on the move or not remain rooted. Melee can pop cds and move/dps, why would a rune that moves with you be “insane?” By that logic a DH using meta or a pally using wings should only be able to benefit from them in a small circle area.

If you people make Rune baseline I will camp your characters until you log, what an awful idea.

Make the spells good on their own without a static percent damage buff. If you do anything with Rune, remove it completely.

You realise that would be a self-nerf because you wouldn’t have access to IF?

I edited my last post in my Thread “Arcane Orb Baseline - Mantle of Kirin Tor instead” with a supplement i think would work very well with the 45 Talent Row.
I post my idea here as well because i am convinced this will make the Arcane Spec way more enjoyable for AoE situations.

My suggested new Talent , the effect of the Legion Legendary “Mantle of the First Kirin Tor”, which will replace “Arcane Orb” will make the Talent Row 45 much more interesting concerning having choices how we want to approach AoE.

Reverberate :
Full AoE Damage for Situations where we are able to be in melee without penalties

Mantle of the first Kirin Tor:
(Arcane Barrage has a 10% chance per Arcane Charge consumed to launch an Arcane Orb in front of you.)
Moderate AoE and an additional Improvement to our ranged AoE capabilities and Cleave.

Supernova (2 Charges) :
Single Target orientated with a minor AoE Functionality

i think that you’re thinking but orb needs to have control attached to it (activated somehow)

They just switched arcane orb and equipoise {whatever they are now calling it} on the tree. Not sure how I feel about that.

Yeah I liked the Mantle of the Kirin Tor, but mostly because I also had an Arcane Orb to cast to account for some of the RNG. I say let the new Orb talent position play out as-is. I love the change and I’m excited to play the aimable controlled version of Orb for now.

Mantle is a great effect and was put in the best possible location for such an effect: on an item.

Well furthermore having Arcane Orb Baseline
with my aforementioned alteration to the 45 Row, it would also improve our Mana management.

So we can truly have sustained AoE.

I’ve never liked RoP. I do think with all the movement in today’s game it would be nice to make it a short term buff that puts a small rune over your head instead of on the ground.

I’m sure some love being tethered to a spot. This game has all types right? But I think that would be a nice change for the spec.

And I’ve always enjoyed Arcane Orb, particularly aiming it, it’s really satisfying to line it up well and at the right moment vs certain bosses and pulls. Maybe I’m weird or whatever but the AoE is one of my favorite parts of playing arcane. Prob is they’ll just replace it with a talent you don’t like anyway lol.

I wanted the same treatment for Prismatic Crystal. I wanted it hover next to the target and just followed it around…talent fixed. I loved the concept of amplifying our magic through the crystal.

yeah wtf happened to the crystal! i never even got to try it! yet another cool idea that blizz took away. /cough Deep Freeze /cough

PC lasted from the launch of WOD to the pre-launch of Legion. Was spectacular for burst (I apparently am in the minority who loved it) but Blizzard felt it needed to go and instead gave us… quickening. :face_vomiting:
