I’m not trying to be a downer on any of the other threads (which are awesome suggestions by the way), but my feeling is they just don’t have the energy/time/focus to do a real rework. So I wanted to ask the community here for SMALL fixes, like one-day type fixes, almost hot-fix type suggestions to throw at Blizz. Like, “hey if you have just one day this cycle to throw mages a bone, please hit these very small things, for some big life improvements.”
I’ll go first. (Of course my focus is arcane) Any single one of these would make arcane play better/feel better (all would be great, but I can’t hope for much)
Small adjustment up on the rate of Clearcasting procs
Small adjustment up on the rate of Orb Barrage procs
Change the 2-piece timer to 30 seconds instead of 20 seconds
When 4-piece tier triggers Missile Barrage, make it automatically trigger a Clearcast proc
Slight increase in Arcane Missile baseline damage
Slight increase in Arcane Orb baseline damage
3x increase in Nether Tempest damage
Just little stuff can make a big difference in QoL. I’ll add more when I think of them, but man even some little effort could make it less of a hassle to get to our damage.
As a frost mage, I would like a small increase to the proc rate of Flurry. I’d also like Glacial Spike to go back to being an option, not mandatory. It feels powerful to press in raids, but it isn’t ideal in small group situations since I loved the cleave from my Glacial Assault/Comet Storm build.
My wish for Arcane is to make Touch of the Magic either not mandatory or have the area effect damage baked into it instead of being a separate talent.
I would love if they got creative with Nether Tempest. Increasing it’s haste would be the ideal choice. Also Supernova could benefit from a damage increase to warrant usage. It’s a nice interrupt but that’s about it.
I want it turned into an actual arcane tornado so it lives up to its name. Otherwise I’d rather see it scrapped altogether. No amount of numbers tuning can save it and they can’t go back to letting it apply to multiple targets because it caused servers to crash back in the day when it did that.
