Arcane - Netflix series

Just watched it not long ago and really enjoyed it.

I wish WoW could have it’s own series, it’d have so much potential. The cartoonish animated style of Arcane would suit WoW really well imo.

Ahh well…one can dream.

Honestly an animated series telling some of the classic warcraft stories would be awesome.

You know a whole series about Arthas, if done well, would perform very, very well.

It’s really not even cartoonish, except the Junkrat lookalike. Even then, the series gets depressingly dark and depraved, and even has the sex in it.

20 years ago, it may have been interesting. Now, any Netflix adaptation is pretty cringe worthy.

That Arcane series(based on League of Legends) has its own MMO coming that is being developed by many of the OG WoW developers, plus some Eve Online developers and it is sounding like it could be amazing!

And yes I agree, Arcane was GREAT!

I havent seen it yet but it doesn’t look like it touches on the noxus/ionia conflict at all? I kinda never cared for bilgewater/piltover (which is what the trailer made it seem like it was about?) so not sure if i should watch it?

Yes! I love Arcane and I am about to watch it for the second time :ok_hand:

Warcraft Netflix series season 1 let’s go!

S1 is entirely about Piltover and Zaun, specifically revolving around Caitlyn, Ekko, Vi, Jinx, Jayce, Heimerdinger and Viktor.

There is some Noxian side characters and minor side-story, but it’s more about the internal politics of Noxus, cause IIRC it roughly takes place timewise when Swain has returned from Ionia and started his coup and is purging much of the nobility. That’s relevant cause

Spoilers

Jayce’s love interest is a plant for the Noxian nobility

Still worth a watch tbh. Even if you’re not the biggest fan of Piltover and Zaun (I’m more of a Noxus/Targon kinda guy myself), they did all the characters justice and animation, music and fight choreography is gorgeous.

The Ekko vs Jinx fight scene is incredible.

Arcane was done pretty well tbh. I don’t even play LoL.

HoTs had trailers that were on par with the animated Castlevania on Netflix. If they could hire them again to make some WoW cartoons It’d be a blast.

Another series I tried out one day and ended up binging non-stop…

I might have to try DOTA next to get my WoW fix.

Which actresses could play Sylvanas? They have to have a proper body. It might be rough.

Live action? Mila Jovovich.

It is sad sometimes to see franchise like League of Legends and DOTA already got a good series while warcraft still stuck with their 2016 movie

I’d eat this right up, yo. Maybe framed as if it were a storybook or history book. Or even narrated by that Milan dude who wrote the WC II manuals.

or you know. they could go “The Legend of Vox Machina” route. follow a haphazard party rather than Main characters.

or they could go the Isekai route and drop a player(s) into the world of Warcraft as their main character(s) maybe one or two of each class.

or they could go the “Bofori” route and lean into it being a game and follow some players who play the game… sort of like " The King’s Avatar" only its Rextroy as the MC

or they could try to convert the Main story of the Warcraft expansions into a multi season Anime so new players actually have some lore idea as to what is even going on…

there is a lot of potential and the game is, as they said, reaching the end if the first “book” of the plots. that is usually when an a IP can be more easily converted into an anime, keeping all the events in mind for proper pacing and limiting filler.

I can agree that the Arthas story might be worth telling as a standalone thing.

But just about everything else from Warcraft is… questionable.

And the thing about the Arthas story is that… leading up to the ending from the point that he becomes the Lich King would be VERY tough to pull off well. It might be impossible. They’d basically have to cut away from the titular character for a fairly long period of time to get enough story in to make it work, and it still might not work.

And tv people won’t accept “ok he’s the lich king now” as an ending unless it’s a season finale going into another season afterward.

I don’t know if they thought there was enough of a fan base to turn it into that rare game adaptation movie to be a hit, but the script should have been used for an animated series.
