For PvP:
You never use Mage Armor as your default armor. You will use Frost Armor. If you have no one with physical abilities to worry about, just other casters, then you can hot swap to Mage Armor. It is an instant cast. But you will ALWAYS default to Frost Armor to ward off rogues, warriors, feral druids, and hunters.

You mean Ice armor right?
