Arcane Mage

I am trying… desperately to understand this spec. Sweet Mana Gems Arcane is so unbelievably layered its insane. You’ve got ten million CD’s both defensive and offensive, some that exist just to pre-buff the buffs that buff your opener (Looking at you Evocation).

  1. Are you actively punished for spending Arcane Charges for Barrage outside of Touch of the Magi? After looking at some guides, it seems you just sit on Arcane Charges to buff Arcane Blast until CD’s are up.

  2. How often would you use Radiant Spark/Touch on regular mobs?!

I get the very, very basic idea of this spec is about lining up CD’s, but dear god its like pressing forty in a specific order.

If right now is too complex wait until TWW pre patch which I’ll bet it will come late next month.

You want to make sure to have enough mana for your mini burst. You Barrage to expend your charges to conserve mana. You still want to spend your Precision procs on 4 Charge Blasts as much as possible. It is a balancing act. Arcane Orb can help recover Charges. It is less relevant before your big burst because of Evocation, but you still don’t want to completely run out of mana.

In general, use your CDs on CD.

Just wait for Prepatch they’re simplifying it for a reason no reason to learn a spec that’s about to be 1000x less complex in a couple weeks

Its a mess rn ngl, and the dmg just isnt even worth it too which is the sad part. Wish arcane would go back too the old arcane harmony style, spec felt soo much better back then.

I just play it for the pink spells. The gameplay arcane offers is clunky, and sometimes just infuriating (rng boss mechanics interrupting your meticulously planned burst damage).

As others have said, wait for prepatch to learn. Some of what you learn right now will be completely irrelevant in future.

It’s getting easier in TWW, just wait till pre-patch.

But once you’ve learned it, it’s very satisfying.
