Is Arcane not getting redone? or a rework? It needs it badly. Thought mages were getting an overhaul of everything next patch?
I believe it is still under construction. They just haven’t revealed any of the changes yet.
Funny cuz the initial mage rework notes for 10.1.5 were all about a big arcane overhaul. And so far frost and fire are totally killing it, while arcane remains left in the dust.

I think they’ll do what was done with evokers and release a massive wave of changes maybe 3 weeks or so before it goes live? That’s my guess anyway.
I think they’ve done everything they’re going to do with Arcane already. They started with Arcane fiddled with the tree a bit, barely scratching the surface of all the problems it had, and called it a day. Over the past few weeks they clearly moved on to Fire and Frost. I think they feel that they’re done with Arcane and I don’t see them coming back to it even though it very much needs a lot more work. The only thing of consequence they really did was address Arcane’s nonexistent AoE which admittedly now feels pretty decent.
However, none of the other major problems like the cooldown stacking, the complex rotation, the insane ramp up, freaking RS, etc. were iterated on at all and the SL status quo very much remains in place which really sucks for those of us who hate it. None of the the QoL changes we were asking for like changing how Mana Gem works or allowing us to pick utility talents/making them baseline were touched on either.
Devs who worked on Arcane are probably sitting in the office like: “it’s not much but it’s honest work.” I guess we have to take what we can get.

I think that’s where I am at. Are the incoming changes better? Yes. No doubt. Could they have seized the opportunity to make arcane great and address lots of issues? Yes. But that feels a bridge too far. Reading all the comments on the PTR forum and they have plenty of feedback already. Hoping they get one solid weekend of an aggressive intern making an impact for the good of arcane.
