Arcane Mage Spell Alert - Clearcasting needs visual for stacks

Clearcasting buff spell alerts should be better and were in the past

The current spell alert visuals for clearcasting doesn't currently show the multiple stacks of the buff. It only shows the presence of the buff, this is less useful than what we have had in the past, noting that in legion we had a spell alert that had up to 3 orbs show that max 3 possible stacks.
It's useful to stockpile and track multiple stacks, for movement or upcoming burst phases. With it's current implementation we're going to have to track the clearcasting buff in the default UI bufftracker coming in midnight and the spell alert effects will be secondary and less useful.

Compare this to Frost Mage’s Ice Lance procs: one proc shows on the left, two on the right. This is simple and effective.

Honestly it's also really fun to stack up the orbs, and I'm going to be sad to lose this in midnight.

Completely agree, and the fact that it used to be in the game and they simply neglected putting it back is just embarrassing. I’ve used a WeakAura that replicated the original design for years now and frankly I don’t know how I will deal without having it since the WeakAura creators decided not to create a client for Midnight.

I like the texture for cc and intuition but there is nothing for incandescence. Arcane soul duration would also be nice. Its the only reason I use w/as for . I don’t like the liquid packs etc…

I use that as well.

It’s wild to me that’s IN THE GAME but they deliberately decided to use a worse version of the overlay.

They removed the CC stack indicators when they made AM castable without a CC proc which made little sense at the time because you could still stack CC procs and almost never used AM without the CC proc anyway BUT it makes absolutely no sense not to go back to the old version now that AM is back to being only castable with a CC proc. Not bringing it back is pure negligence on their part at this point and we need to be vocal about it or they will continue to ignore the problem.

This is also very emblematic of the entire debate about addons and highlights the fact that their prominence came about because Blizzard dropped the ball and weren’t doing their job with the game’s native UI and NOT because players were looking for a way to make the game easier. The only players who rely on addons to the extend where the addon AI makes decisions for them are the top 1% who are the only ones doing tryhard content where that kind of thing is even necessary and who will always find a way to get an edge anyway. So once again the rest of us are screwed over and can’t have nice things because a handful of players find ways to abuse the tech that makes them possible. /sigh

Yeah, the fact that it’s still in the game, people still use it, and that it just doesn’t track the buff fully, in that it only shows 1 stack of 3, just means that it’s functionally not there as a spell alert.
I know the UI team is all in on developing the new stuff for all classes but it can’t be that big an effort to have 1/2/3 orbs spell alert effect for 1/2/3 CC stacks, right?

I mean… I can do in a bout 15 minutes on live with a weak aura.
