Arcane Mage PvP questions

Hi all, I have a few questions to better help me understand how to play arcane.

I’ve tried searching on the forum, but I can’t actually figure out the search function too well. Seems like it pulls up very old information usually.

1. Is Alter Time castable while stunned?
2. Is Temporal Shield castable while stunned?
3. When I macro: /castsequence reset=3 Shimmer, null to my mousewheel, it still casts shimmer 2x on a panic fast scroll. Is this avoidable? Maybe my macro is bad?
4. Is there any reason to take clearcasting pvp talent? It think clearcasting now autostacks, right?
5. Do arcane mages cast slow frequently? Or do they use the arcane barrage talent and cast arcane barage to slow most often?

I’m pretty sure that’s a no for both 1 and 2
3. I’m not sure about this one, but I’ve never even seen a shimmer macro like that. Especially since sometimes you’d want to hit it twice to get behind a pillar to polymorph or get a cast off.
4. I’ve been playing with it and I can see the burst potential if you take the amplification talent. Not only do you get 5% more damage, you also get 2 charges extra. If you line it up with your other cd’s you do some pretty big burst.
5. I use it a lot against melee. Keep in mind that arcane barrage will consume your stacks. So it’s not really optimal to use that to replace your slow. Unless you just want to do some quick burst while also applying a slow.

   I do not believe its possible to avoid the double cast on spam scrolling due to it being off the GCD
4. Is there any reason to take clearcasting pvp talent? It think clearcasting now autostacks, right?
   It will not allow us to get past the innate 3 stacks of CC. This talent is outdated and needs adjusted. Currently it is only good for the bonus damage per stack
5. Do arcane mages cast slow frequently? Or do they use the arcane barrage talent and cast arcane barage to slow most often?
   Slow is 60% debuff compared to the 50% on chronoshift. So it has its uses. You can also use it on a secondary person while keeping another slowed with chronoshift. Do we use it frequently? Not really but it’s still useful. I honestly wish it would go back to being a cast and attack speed debuff as well… wishful thinking I guess.

Slow only slows for 50%, and you can use it on as many enemies as you want.

1: Not castable, but if youre stunned while it expires, it will proc and return you
2: also no, but will still return your hp if youre stunned while it procs. The skill of that spell is to use it if you anticipate an incoming kidney
3: no clue
4: YES, take it because it makes it to where you can cast arcane explosion without using procs. The power of this, is that you can spam explosion while behind a pillar, build stacks, and use it into totm for MEGA ROFL nukes
5: Very much situational. Slow is nice to use on a @focus to get a melee off you. Slow is also good for if youre not trying to dump charges. So just depends

Also fun fact but the slow from barrage is a physical debuff vs the magical
