Arcane mage, lets ask questions , embarrass the Developers

Questions I asked :slightly_smiling_face:Question: Are you ignoring under performance spec to force people change to popular specs? Arcane mage has been under performance ever since the launch( check raider io , check bot sim , check whatever data you have ), and you even buffed frost mage twice and ignore Arcane, what is your motivate ?

Thats crazy its almost like they gave them a massive buff in making venthyr proc clearcasting.

The buff is to Ventyr, not Arcane. Very few if any Arcane mages went Ventyr at launch and almost no one will switch now given how much time and resources they’ve sunk into their original covenant. This is especially true when you consider that Night Fae and Shifting Power is still BiS in all AoE situations and not that far behind on ST either. Any fix needs to be applied to the base spec not covenants or other borrowed powers to be effective.

What makes you think they’ll answer that kind of question over someone that is more constructive?

That’s funny… None of the real questions will ever be “constructive” enough for Blizzard. We already know they only answer questions like what is Ion’s favorite color…

I doubt this will be true with more testing. Lining venthyr up so you dont have to fish for procs when bursting and it lining up with every second rune + magi will likely make it dominant in single target given how strong amplification makes clearcasting for single target dps.

Most likely, Mirrors of Torment will be effectively a 2-minute cooldown to line it up with Arcane Power.

Right, but you can still run Amplification as Night Fae and while your TotMs will be more powerful as a Venthyr they will be more frequent as Night Fae and over the course of an entire fight it will pretty much be a wash as far as TotM is concerned.

Now single target burst will indeed be higher as Venthyr but most situations that require burst right now involve cleave or AoE, not ST (with the notable exception of Sludgefist).

So again, while the change is great if taken in a vacuum in reality it doesn’t add up to much at all. What needed to be done is to have either simply increased the CC proc rate at base or given this ability to generate CC procs on demand to a baseline ability.

As an aside, the fact that some specs, like Arcane, can only focus on ST or AoE but never both because that ability is locked behind competing talents or borrowed powers when the game is designed with both ST and AoE in mind is a glaring design flaw for which Blizzard seemingly have no answer.

Or, you play arcane prodigy and you might not even have to delay it.

Even if every Arcane mage went Venthyr, they’d still be noticeably worse than the other two specs.

If you’re playing Fire or Frost, you’re sittin’ pretty right now. One spec has been top dog for years, the other has gotten massive buffs and will eventually perform the best when people catch on. Making people switch to Venthyr after dragging their feet for months isn’t going to solve Arcane.

Ah yes. The answer to all of Arcane’s problems is another cooldown to stack and time around raid mechanics.

One more: Have you ever used Supernova in this expansion? Let me rephrase that, have you ever seen anyone people picked it over arcane orb?
