I feel like Arcane is the “True mage spec”. Fire and Frost are elements, which can be utilized by other classes. That being said, I feel like Arcane needs something unique other than just a few damage spells. Maybe some abilities which alter time, gravity, and space? Furthermore, they’re the MASTER’S of magic…I feel like they should have immunity to dispels and their magic should pierce any absorption effects. (I know that seems OP, i’m just fantasizing)
Now, bear in mind that this is a VERY rough idea. I literally thought it up after the power nap I had bit ago, so don’t flip your lid if it seems “broken”. Also, i’m not going to throw out damage numbers or duration times, because that’s ultimately going to boil down to testing. So i’m just going to list ideas for the spell effect itself.
Gravity Lapse - Cast on an enemy OR ally. All enemies in the area around the target are weighed down, reducing their movement speed by X% and attack/casting speed by Y%.
PVP Talent Maybe?: The debuff persist for x seconds on the enemy after they leave the area.
Since we’re so immobile, I would say alter time needs a little…more. Also, i’m biased on this one, because it’s my favorite spell in the game. Anyways, here’s my idea
Rewind time (Instant Cast, replaces blink): Rewind time by x seconds, resetting your location and restoring your health and mana in addition to removing any debuff applied during that time. Can be cast during stuns/silences.
Deja vu (Replace Temporal Shield): Rewind time can be cast a second time within 10 seconds.
Arcane Explosion (same effect with additional interaction): Enemies hit by arcane explosion receive a stacking debuff. Once an enemy receives X amount of stacks, they are pulled in to the center of the explosion and explode for Y% of total damage dealt.
This is just a couple ideas, but I’d also like to point out that Slipstream should be a baseline talent.
I’m sure i’ll have a few more ideas later, but in the meantime, tear me a new one.
