Hey Guys ,
long time no see, with this topic i will attempt to improve the Arcane Mage for the last time.
So lets talk about the Talents.
15:
The only viable talent will be Amplification, because our best Legendary buffs Arcane Missile damage and Arcane Echo will make Arcane Missile damage even more important.
Rule of Threes should be altered.
With Arcane Barrage newly gained Ability this Talent should buff the Refund to 3% per Arcane Charge like we had in Legion with the Leg Legendary. This way it will help with sustaining our AoE rotation as well.
Arcane Familiar will stay dead if it remains as it is. It
should be buffed in favour of AoE. How ? I Do not know.
25:
Good Job on “Master of Time” . Really . Cheers to that.
Slipstream is far behind the other two and will probably stay
dead for another Expansion, but i dont care because we, Arcane
Mages only, have a good alternative to Shimmer. That alone is a
big step already.
35:
Another Congratulation from my part here , because you listened
to our concerns after the first change to Rune of Power and acted
quickly (within 1 week!).
Unfortunately the second round of changes (giving 1 charge
back) made this talent far too powerful compared to the other
already inferior talents .
The duration should be reverted to 10 seconds but only for the
one charge.
And i think the duration for the Major Cooldowns should change
as well , because it feels very awkward and not thought
through thoroughly for Frost.
The Duration of Rune of Power for (Combustion, Arcane Power
and Icy Veins) should cover the whole duration of our Major Cooldowns.
35:
This row looks kind of complete and only needs number tuning
in case of outliners.
40:
The one change here will be explained in the next row.
45:
Ok here i go again in my final attempt.
Make Arcane Orb baseline. It is the most popular and loved spell
for Arcane for such a long time now. Our Base Toolkit still lacks
Cleave and ranged AoE.
The Talent in its place will become the Legion Legendary
"Mantle of the first Kirin Tor".
Arcane Barrage has a 10% chance per Arcane Charge consumed
to launch an Arcane Orb in front of you.
Another universally loved ability.
Regarding Supernova there are two choice. We can buff it until it
becomes competitive OR we can move it to the 40 row where it will
replace Ice Ward. Its a perfect fit there because
for the last 2 Expansion Supernova’s only purpose was Utility.
The possibility to interrupt, wheter a channeled ability in PvP like
Fists of Fury or EyeBeam or just an uninterruptable cast in M+ is really nice to have.
I have not come up for a good replacement for Supernova so far.
Maybe do something about Presence of Mind like :

your next X Arcane Barrages will act like you have 4 Charges - Presence of Mind grants 4 Charges and has a reduced cooldown.
No matter how the replacement looks like it just should favour single target and with a minor AoE improvement, so the main purpose of this row stays intact --> AoE
50:
The only change you can do here is something about Time
Anomaly or it will not be picked for another Addon.
The evocation effect seems a bit off and should be replaced by a
Rune of Power for X seconds OR for the next X Seconds Arcane
Barrage has no Cooldown and act like you have 4 Charges.
Or just delete Arcane Anomly, nobody would complain about
that.
Another idea that would fit nicely for Arcane.
When you interrupt someone succesfully you gain XX% Mana.
I hope i will find some approval from other Mage Players who are also so passionate about this spec.
