It’s fine.
It does put it in line with the druid versatility buff or the shaman mastery buff. I’m sure it was done for balancing purposes since this will affect every caster/healer character once in dungeons and raids.
Nope, 3% Versatility is superior. It’s 3% extra damage and healing plus 1.5% damager reduction that is useful to everyone equally, contrary to Arcane Intellect that only affects casters.
I feel like this was just another Augmentation tax since the extra intellect for Augmentation translates into extra stats for everybody else.
No swearing on the World of Warcraft forums. I don’t have any love of that grotesquery of a “support damage” spec.
That could also be it, but I read it was because of Chaos Brand. So, they nerfed that AND intellect.
Just seems… silly. Another reason why I hate Mythic+
First, it came for my AoE Arcane Torrent Silence. Now this? /cry
I’m not super concerned with this change though I think it could have been done in a much better way (bring the MoP scrolls to retail so that M+ gets all the buffs) but I think this is accurate.
Augmentation seems to make balancing incredibly difficult
Conversely if we had worthwhile scrolls then we could bring the player and not the class in M+ content. For example when drums were 25%, you would still want to use true lust in a raid, but you could bring your friend instead of finding a luster.
Of course now with 15% drums you can still bring your friend, but if they don’t have lust that’s a bit of social friction. Guaranteed some fledgling friendships have died because of it and this game is seriously struggling with maintaining social connections
Striping the buff would be better then having us to get scrolls.
The problem is that blizard never took utility in equation while balancing DPS. A class can hapen to bring the highest utility in game while being top damage dealer.
Crazy how this could be fixed by making warrior and monk bring the same amount of utility as mage and demon hunter, since the same buffs exist for melee.
