120 thorium. 40 nodes. 0 Arcane Crystals. What is going on? Ive gotten 1 crystal since phase 2 dropped. Is this just very bad luck or are others experiencing this too? T.T

i had 20 crystals in 5 days. Now i have zero in 3! Phase 1 was raining crystals. Now i literally cannot get one.
Half of the time you find RTV you only get 2 taps. That is horribly broken and a big part of why crystals are rare.
Yesterday alone I spent over an hour seeking them out, found one node and netted a total of 2 ore, no stone, no crystals. Rich Thorium Nodes.

The drop rate of arcane crystals along with the number of taps you get on thorium nodes seems way off from actual vanilla.

Yea last night i went in with 66 ore. no crystal. this morning 24 ore, no crystal. a few days ago 50 ore, no crystal. day before that 25 ore, no crystal.
Since phase 2 everyone has been in BGs so i thought i would capitalize on these crystals. Ive been getting a lot of veins! just NO crystals. Idk if its just really bad luck or if they adjusted the rate with phase 2.
I would just like to know because if its just me thats fine. But if they adjusted the rate then that would be good to know so i can stop trying to farm these.
One thing is RNG is based off everyone around you too. If youre the only one farming the nodes, you’ll get a higher % of Arcane Crystals per node since AC has a set limit that will drop in the world.
If a bunch of people are farming for them too, even if you get all the same nodes in the same time the drop rate will have to balance between all the drops. I’ve seen it personally.
I farmed Essences of Air and if I farmed during peak times, I would never get any. I farmed a few during a reset one day staying home from work, and got 7 in an hour. I tried it again in the wee hours one morning and got 3 in an hour, during peak 1 an hour is about the norm.
Well, when the patch notes have a one line :" Bug Fixes" with no details, who knows what was actually changed in the game.
[citation needed] RNG per every spawned node should be unaffected by other nodes. The game has no idea that X number of people are actively seeking nodes out. Just that a node is being tapped at any given time.
Its a conspiracy theory none the less, but I swear on it!
Exactly this, unfortunately. If there was a drop nerf, at least Miners like us would have some closure.
OP, nothing has changed. There are days I can mine so many nodes and not get a single drop. Then the other day, the first one I mine was a two tap with TWO Arcane Crystals. I feel lead on lol.

Ok, well thanks for the responses! I must have just been really lucky my first couple weeks farming. xD
It’s RNG and in the end, in my experience, it all comes down to about 5% chance per swing. I’ve mined countless ore and have gotten my fair share of crystals. 70 ore one day with 1 crystal and then 4 crystals within 15 ore the next. RNG is RNG.

Are you going to deny that number of taps per node is an issue?
yea im at about 150-160 taps without a crystal so im kind of freaking here. lol
try doing dme jump runs and get in a group with no miners (kind of tough but possible). you get 2-3 rich thorium nodes after u kill az. i got a few crystals spamming jump runs so maybe that can give u a better chance. but imo mining is a scam unless u do that. so hard to find nodes and seems when u do u have to fight for it or it gets ninja’d from me
Just bad rng. I have gone days without seeing one, and I have seen 3 in the same node.

Random drop rate is random. 40 nodes is basically nothing. You need to farm more. If Blizzard made Arcane Crystals drop more, the cost of Arcane crystals would go down due to higher supply and would become worth far less. It’s fine the way it is.
RNG is RNG.
I’ve spent minutes one day and be up 3 crystals in under an hour. On the flip side of the coin I’ve spent 8 hours with no crystals.
Pure luck of the draw and that’s why they are worth a lot of money.
Not an issue per say, just the original state before it got buffed later. I remember farming for Arcane Crystals when I got TF bindings post Vanilla and even small nodes had a chance to drop them.
A part of me would love for all of it drop, maybe the prices on the AH would be cheaper, but alas, sticks and stones.
