I have died several times now to my root/blob getting cancelled while the boss is doing the pull. I have not interrupted, leg sweeped, paralyzed, ROP’d, or cast anything that could explain why the root got broken. It just randomly decides that now is a good time to let go, and so I get yeeted into the boss.
Is this a bug, or am I missing some talent or ability that is causing it? I don’t have the talent that causes roll to remove snares either. I was literally just standing still and healing.
One time I was in the middle of casting Celestial Conduit, but I doubt that was the culprit because I tested it again and it didn’t break the root on any other time.
Second time I cast Chi-ji, and my root got broken. But then I tried it again and Chi-ji didn’t break the root… so I am confused what it is that is causing the root to expire.
Extremely annoying!
That is strange, because I tried it on a test pull and Chi-ji didn’t break the root anymore. Plus, the other times I didn’t have Chi-ji up, so it still doesn’t explain what else could be causing the root to break.
Chi-ji is 100% going to break the root every time since it is an anti-root/anti-snare for the duration but other players can break your root if they interrupt your slime
Sadly I don’t have any logs enabled.
I suppose it’s possible that someone else could have interrupted it, but I didn’t see any visual cue of that on the mob - usually you can see a spell effect when a mob gets stunned or silenced.
If you want to avoid the whole mechanic entirely ( or people possibly breaking you out early ) you can just put down Transcendence and time your teleport for when the pull in/one shot happens.
The cooldown for transcendence lines up nicely with that mechanic. So as long as you remember to put down and reset transcendence after each pull in you should be able to avoid the mechanic entirely - not needing to worry about getting stuck in the goo, breaking out, or the overlap that can happen with the white circles and the root.
Just use transcendence. Set your return about 20 yards from the boss and snap back to it as she’s pulling in, the timing works out exactly so that its up for every cast.
