Now don’t get me wrong, I have not changed my stance on my support for Gilblins. However it is no good for there to be contention of conflict between these communities. Pretty much I think I came off a bit too aggressive and convicted about some of my ideas during some of the Vulpera/Gilblin discussions happening the other day. Ultimately it comes down to blizzards decisions anyway and it is no use getting frustrated over petty stuff like this.
Why do you keep emphasizing conflict between two communities that does not exist?
There are some people who passionately want Vulpera. There are some who passionately want Gilblins. This can cause some friction due to conflict of interest.
Oh?
How big is the gilblin community? I’ve seen virtually nothing relating to it.
(Legitimate question, no /s)
Ah ha. You see comments like that are exactly what I am talking about. Believe me. There are lots of Gilblin supporters out there. It is just that some people(in particular Vulpera supporters) would rather believe we didn’t exist.
It’s a legitimate question. Do you have a thread? A discord? Any kind of tangible presence?
The reason I ask is because I saw the thread you made about the “communities being at war,” but when you dodge a question about where gilblin supporters are and what level development they have regarding their ideas, it only looks like you’re talking about a “war” that doesn’t actually exist. For what purpose? Who can say…
I doubt it’s a conspiracy.
Anyway the biggest obstacle for Gilblins atm is a lack of female model. If they add one for 8.2 I will believe that they can be an AR.
Is this still going on ;-;
Plz no fight
Gilblin Discussion Thread
Discord link.
As Nazjatar comes closer to approaching, you will see more Gilblin supporters coming out.
Yeah Gilblin (the user, not the race) did a good job with that thread. It definitely doesn’t have the same level of support as the Vulpera thread does, but it’s really well put together and thoughtful.
That being said, was I meant to see vulpera users antagonizing the community somewhere in this thread? Or does that happen on the discord? I see a couple users post support for Vulpera, but not in a mean-spirited way.
The whole reason I started that Vulpera/Gilblin war thread(which has been reworded) was because of a combination of people saying that Gilblin supporters don’t exist and a few hearted arguments that happened over whether Vulpera or Gilblin would be an AR. And I agree Gilblin did an excellent job with that thread. This whole thing was basically just trying to say"Hey. Us Gilblin supporters do exist and many do want them", but I didn’t mean to paint it like Vulpera Supporters are antagonists or something like that. That is what this apology thread is trying to correct. Along with that I may have been a bit aggressive with how I felt at times.
Something I should also add is that there are not really any junker gnomes communities, but a lot of people do want them. Or at least non I am aware eof.
I think it might be more beneficial for your cause not to focus on the skirmishes between communities (real or imagined) because it just makes everyone look bad and won’t result in anyone being drawn to your cause. It’s a much better return on your effort to build on your support base and convince others, with great and creative ideas, why Gilblins should be added to the Horde. I admit, it’s a tough sell; from my point of view it looks like gliblins would be better off as an added customization option to regular goblins rather than a full-fledged allied race, but I’m definitely not speaking out against their inclusion and am more than willing to hear any and all arguments for them. Keep pushing and focusing on the positives, not the negatives of your community, and try not to get so discouraged that a question about the logistics of your community could be misconstrued as a veiled attack. Not everything is meant to be a slight against your interests.
And I do understand why such discouragement can happen. What you’re asking for is a tough sell, and sometimes you just have to face the reality that the concept is very niche. I personally really want Broken Draenei playable, even made a thread/discord about it, but eventually I had to walk away because it had virtually no engagement and it was clear the community just wasn’t crazy about the idea. People like their draenei to be pretty, not ugly I suppose
And that’s fine. I can’t force people to like something they don’t. Everyone’s going to want something different here on GD, and I don’t take it personally when someone else’s ideas don’t align with my own.
In the future, this is exactly the angle I am going to take instead of saying stuff like why they will be more likely to be an AR as opposed to another. This was what was getting a lot of people upset for one.
Is that really a thing? Are there groups of pro-Gilblin and Vulpera gangs a la Warriors running around, rumbling?
(gives Atamozhelios a cookie for a well said apology)
what is a giblin?
Gilblins are aquatic gobbies.
