AQ Opening (yes I know its a long ways away)

So I didn’t play SOM… have they announced how the AQ gates will be opened on SoD??

Are we getting the whole war effort and opening quest chain?

All we know so far is what they’ve publicly stated regarding PvP Ranks.

To start in the first phase of Season of Discovery, at level 25, the cap will be rank 3. Our current plan is to then increase the cap with each new phase, so that rank will cap at 9 for the first few weeks of level 60. Thereafter, we’re planning to increase the rank cap every few weeks along with the release of level 60 content such as Blackwing Lair, finally reaching rank 14 with the opening of The Temple of Ahn’Qiraj.

This would imply that the lvl 60 content will be released in stages and MAYBE AQ will have a whole war effort and opening quest chain. Or it might just be released willy nilly because the release stages will be in terms of weeks, not months.

To be fair, I think we might get the full AQ event, especially if they make it like a month between AQ release and Naxx release or something.

What they might do is they might make the full AQ war effort truncated. Like on old servers they had it work so that if the server couldn’t open the gates of AQ in six months, they’d open on their own or something.

Might be that they give us four weeks to open the gates of AQ ourselves and for any servers that don’t succeed in that time, they open automatically alongside Naxx being released or w/e.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Mixing up all the supplies so that guilds are less able to mass gather/hoard the stuff needed (unique to each faction) would be kinda cool, but I expect that’d be far more labor for the Dev team than is worth the human resources.
