Since we are going into the new phase can we get these tier pieces adjusted to just turn in for free like MC and BWL do? Would make it actual catch up gear becasue no new player is going to come in and do a naxx, get fed tier pieces and then have the thousands of gold it takes to actually use this gear which they will replace in the new raid.

Yeah there is no reason to have these gear sets being locked behind material farming if you are gonna have us replace it in such a short time after it is released. If its too much to make new tokens, you could at least give us a vendor that does not require all the materials, just the original tokens.

They should have never reintroduced the tier mats required to craft a tier piece.
I don’t get why the early phases were so alt friendly from p2-p5 and then suddenly they were like no we want a huge goldsink for people to get tier.
Retail got rid of the tier mats in TBC for very obvious reasons, they could have easily kept this throughout all of sod.

Yes they will.
Naxx 4-pc is pre-bis for many characters and a number of builds will use 2-pc Naxx, especially the ring, in their BIS list.
Retail is worse about it. Retail has you have to craft and recraft the same dumb items every tier in specific slots. These materials are pretty dang cheap if you have salt shakers to turn out and sell and use.
The argument is having the gold for the mats to turn in the tokens for the pieces of gear. The argument is not about aq or naxx tier being pre bis.

Oh no. The game that has an economy requires players to play the game to involve themselves in the economy in order to get bis end game gear.

The ring alone is over 500g. I do play the game and it is how I know this information. I don’t play alts or gear my off spec because of the cost of the tier. Sitting with 7/9 in the bank for off spec but no way im spending 2k+ to turn in my tier then go enchant it all.
I can only imagine what its like for someone who is interested in the new raid and wants to come back after not playing since ST.
I’m all for welfare gear catch up mechanics. Mostly because I’m totally against loot reserves and addons; which disqualifies me from being able to gear, without considerable extra effort I’m unwilling to put in. Make the game casual blizz. Please.

Meanwhile, I have 3 characters near BIS this phase, an amount of characters I haven’t had since Sunken Temple.
Naxx is extremely, extremely generous with the amount of tokens it gives out as well as the ease of difficulty. This is offset by there being an economic component.
Now I do think that this system hurts off-spec gearing, because I don’t want to spend money on gear I rarely ever use, but I raid with my alts once a week and have had zero qualms about getting them their gear. The ability to skip completely over AQ has been huge.
To rephrase, i don’t play my alt shaman thats in full bwl gear because I don’t want to spend the gold turning in the 4 AQ tokens sitting in the bank. So he just sits in his Full BWL gear becasue I was able to turn in those tokens which dropped extremely generously in bwl as well. For, FREE.
All im asking, is when next phase drops or even a few weeks after it drops. Let people turn in AQ + Naxx tier tokens in for free like they did in MC + BWL.
If u don’t want to use add-ons or discord. Then just leave bro. It’s 2025 not using discord/add-ons isn’t being casual. It’s just being dumb.

really though there are lots of ways you can earn the money or make the mats yourself in time to get the pieces.
its the same story of people refusing to play the freaking game and wanting all obstacles taken out of their way for the “GIMME NOW” people.
maybe they should play a game that actually caters towards that playstyle and leave us who actually want to play the game and earn stuff alone?
