It’s not even a zone change, I was just PVPing in Nazjatar and the instant the War for Naz event started I went from perfect ping to 20s (yes seconds) of lag.
Here;'s mine from the Philippines playing in a Oceanic Server. Latency gets worst after lunch(GMT+8) but during the morning(GMT+8) latency is fine.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider
This is still happening, It’s been almost 2 weeks now - tempted to ask for my sub to be refunded for this month.
Come on blizz, i come back and resub, buy shadowlands because i am hyped and can’t even play certain areas of the game, its been over 2 weeks with no fix, every other game i play is fine. Something needs to be done, its not going to go away on its own.
Something weird happened just now, i went in into dungeon and got 500ms then switched to VPN and got 190ms but forgot to switch my gear then i went out then went in again and it become lag again. After that i relog and my ping become normal again.
Hey all, sorry if we were not clear enough in the intial post here. Some information from some of our other threads doesn’t seem to have made it here.
We’ve gotten an influx of players in southeast asia/oceania reporting issues with their connections - increased latency, more frequent disconnections, etc. There are currently mass quarantines around the world due to the Coronavirus, and as a result, internet infrastructure is strained. More people are working from home, and more people staying home and just using the internet to do things like stream, download games, etc. Because the internet itself is struggling all around the globe, many Internet Service Providers are throttling connections to certain services so that important industries can ensure that they have a good connection to their businesses. In other situations, some of the internet providers just don’t have enough bandwidth for everybody during peak hours, causing further issues.
The easiest way to test to see if this is the problem you’re having is to try on a different network. What I’ve been recommending to people who have problems like this is to test by installing a Virtual Private Network (VPN). We don’t directly support VPNs, because we don’t make any ourselves. However, if you install a VPN, connect to the VPN, and the problem goes away, then you know that the problem is an Internet Service Provider issue. Unfortunately at this time, there’s not a lot that Internet Service Providers can do right now other than upgrade their infrastructure, which takes time. Many providers are at their limits. If the VPN works, I recommend using it until the quarantines are over.
We are still collecting information, but from the vast majority of tests in this thread, it appears that users are losing data packets between their house and our servers. That would be out of your hands and our hands in most situations.
For those of you who a VPN does NOT help, some of you have problems inside of your house as well. Try standard connection troubleshooting if switching to a VPN doesn’t help with the problem at all.
Please note: This is not to say that we aren’t still going to try to resolve things if possible, but I want to set correct expectations here. We may not be able to do anything on our end, as there are a number of different places where these failures are happening in all of these tests, and we do not have direct control over any of them.
If I hear anything else from our investigation, I’ll let you all know.
That makes sense, thank you.
Curse the CCP virus.
WORLD SERVER IS DOWN at the moment. I hope this can conclude that your server end has problem.
Got disconnected or high latency whenever get in a dungeon. I’ve been suffering this for a week.

Singtel’s users getting screwed over with insane lag spikes 500~1000ms. Their suboptimal routing is absolutely terrible, not to mention their practice of throttling gamers.
I don’t think it is Blizzard’s fault at the moment. I had to resort to using a VPN, which solved the issue for now.

its kinda useless as VPN actually makes it worse as it has to route more to other servers thus causing even more lag and delay
any updates? still experiencing high latencies here in oce servers

If only there was an online site like Udemy, where for $5
you could get a certificate on Networks and how they work.
Maybe you’d realise how much control Blizzard doesn’t have
over the internet in general, and it also gets rid of the
“I’m not an IT/tech person, but this must be a simple fix, right?”
Also “until the quarantines are over.”
Last time I checked, that’s still a thing
7 of us just DCed now to WoW only and got 20k+ ms when fighting Carapace.
Even using VPN just now doesn’t help at all and got 1k+ ms world
crap coming back again FailFish
Getting lag in arena again, need a fix or im gonna be very very upset that I cannot play my 1400 mmr blizzcon games
