I don’t really understand your selective concern on certain classes. Like last phase when mage was top dps and the best at farming and pvp, you were making tons of threads about how specifically frost was bad, wouldn’t that be the same issue for every class you reroll to? If you switched to shaman would you then be making a bunch of threads about how resto shaman is bottom healing and enhance shaman is 4th on tank dps?
I mean I’d bet almost every horde has a shaman . I know I do it’s mandatory

Mage was in the top 3 for P2 for fire, Frost has been dead last the entire game, Arcane has been middle of the pack for the most part.
I’d like to see one spec not sit dead last for the entire experience.
Mages aren’t the best at farming anymore, its Hunters by an absolute mile, especially now but in P2 Hunters were doing the Solo Cath farm naked faster than mages. Frost mage was never the best in PvP in SoD. They were strong but after living flame was nerfed heavily they fell off. They are still probably in a better spot than some classes but a far cry from their Era counter parts.
Tank DPS, aside from threat does not matter, no one thinks Shaman Tanks are bad bc of their DPS.
Having nearly every single class get an adjustment except for mage really just showed me they have no intention of ever fixing some of the issues with mage. Leaving certain specs extremely powerful for months is a good indicator that they wont nerf them.

Rerolling is probably a great decision then, a win-win as you’ll either focus more on the limitations of each class and change perspective or you’ll truly feel that a certain class is much better than mage was relative to others last phase and can enjoy being on top.
I’m not really too concerned with being a top performer inside of raids, I just would like to have frost not sit dead last for the entire length of SoD, or really any class/spec.
I also want to be able to PUG when I can’t make it to raid occasionally with my busy IRL schedule and be competitive in PvP.
Mage is pretty solid in PvP but consistently has been weaker every phase, I’ve got the time to level an alt or two so I’ll give it a shot.

This is the way but I don’t see it happening with the current generation of gamers. Not trying to be condescending, but their brains may literally be wired differently.

Hmm maybe it will help if I give you an example outside of game
You go to a restaurant and get a meal.
Your sandwhich is okay. Your first side is the worst thing you’ve ever had. The second side is the second worst thing you’ve ever had.
How do you rate your meal? Would you order it again and be glad you paid for it or want the restaurant to improve their sides you paid for?

Frost Mage isn’t a DPS spec, it’s a PvP spec.
There is no such thing but even if there were it is not very good right now. No one is is saying “AB premade LF Frost Mage!”. There are no posts on the forum complaining about frost mage. Frostmage has to hard cast to do half the damage of Spriest/Ele shaman etc.
In Era they are gods, in SoD they are just alright in PvP

Mage in the history of wow has been functionning in a easy way people that play mage should know by now.
Frost is for PvP the rest is for PvE.
I want to do both PvE and PvP.
Frost in Classic is and was one of the best in PvP and PvE.
In retail, I don’t really care for the PvE but in PvP all 3 specs are viable. I’m not sure why you insist that certain specs must be bad and to only play them the way you want instead of the way.
Ele shaman is great in PvP and decent in PvE, that’s all I’m asking for Frost

How do you figure? Are you saying that they actually try to figure out why they aren’t progressing or how they can improve. While old gamers just liked to wipe repeatedly with no ability to see what the problem was…

In the analogy the sandwich that was decent was the Fire spec, I haven’t complained about that because it is fine, just like the fire spec.
The two sides that were bad, I did complain about!
Why leave things bad when they could be average?
