What’s a good tip for a Mythic ilvl Staff on the crafting table? All my mats.
500 to 1k is fair imo. Especially if you are asking for max rank.
I feel like folks are gonna be mad at you for this. I agree with the caveat that you provide the materials. But you probably meant that too.
I have seen folks offer 5k to 10k tips. I gave 20k for my weapon. While I tip well, I still feel that a tip is a tip, and if you expect a certain amount then you should state your fee.
For a max rank item from one of the big crafting professions, 5k seems to be standard. Rarer recipes more.
I fulfill pretty much any crafting order I see for Engineering since they show up so rarely
i tipped 5k for mine
The average tip is probably around 5,000. Median is probably 3,000.
But if you provide all gold mats and you tip nothing they usually still make gold from resourcefulness.
I always tip 10k for crafts.
No exceptions.
i don’t know but i just think of what i would think is a good worthwhile tip if i did it and for me i think the 5k mark is good
Early on I’ll do 5-10k, as the season continues, that goes down. By the end of the season you can probably get away with doing public orders
Tbh I haven’t had any problems tipping 1k for weapons and armors. They get filled pretty quick as well.
But yea, people should state their amounts for sure.
oh wow I must be on some low balling server based on these replies.
Lol for real. Im seeing an average of 5k.

But I haven’t had any complaints yet.

10k. Gold is so easy to come by. If we paid 5k back in WotLK for a BiS trinket, you can spend double that for a BiS item when gold is far more plentiful.
I’m reminded of a reference from Yugioh abridged season zero whenever I go to tip: “I give the Egyptian gods 10% Why should I give you 15?”
I’m going to admit that I also do not know the appropriate tip amount, nor where to find it. I appreciate this thread!
5K-10K seems to be the standard these days, but last expansion I had folks offer me 20K-30K unprompted ![]()
Overall, I’d say if you’re in that 5K-10K range, you’re good. Anyone complaining about that when you’ve provided all the mats is being completely unreasonable. If anyone demands more, then kindly remind them what a tip is and that if they are demanding a minimum price, then it’s no longer a tip: that’s their commission fee.
Also take your business elsewhere at that point, because negotiating with someone like that is a headache nine out of ten times.
I’d do it for no tip, any crafter demanding a tip for basic “I just got this from leveling my profession/buying a recipe off a vendor for acuity” isn’t worth the time of day tbqh you get enough profit from resourcefulness procs. Course if it’s one of them damned delve or raid recipes well that’s open for some tips.
10kat least.
5k minimum

If you’re ever in doubt, there’s two methods I use to give myself a general range:
Method #1:
Look at the price of the raw mats at the best quality. Round the price up to the nearest thousand, then look at what 30% of that number is.
For example: if the mats are 10K after rounding up, then 30% of that would be 3K. Always keep in mind that a crafter providing the mats themselves is looking to make gold, not run a charity.
Method #2:
Look at what a WQ is giving in raw gold when quests for gold pop up. At the start of Midnight, those have been hovering around 1K. Multiply that number by five. In this example we get 5K.
For me, those two numbers represent what I myself would consider to be fair. The lower number is the absolute floor. 5K is nice, and anything above 5K is a good bonus. In the rare event that you get the same number for both methods or the numbers are just too close, then add 50% to give yourself a range to work with (ie: if you have 5K on both methods, then 50% gives you a 5K-7.5K range)
